About The Role The Associate Architect - Java at Quantiphi is a pivotal role responsible for designing, developing, and modernizing enterprise Java applications. This position requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in Java application development, modernization, and cloud integration. The role involves engaging directly with clients to understand their technical requirements, providing strategic consultation, and ensuring the seamless delivery of high-quality software solutions.
The Associate
Architect will lead technical discussions, supervise team activities, and contribute to creating scalable, maintainable, and robust application architectures. This role also emphasizes staying updated with current industry practices, exploring new trends, and implementing innovative solutions to enhance service standards and client satisfaction.
Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background with a minimum of 7-12 years of experience in enterprise Java development and architecture. A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred. The candidate should have proven expertise in Java application modernization, including upgrading legacy systems to newer Java LTS versions such as Java 17, 21, or 25.
Experience with enterprise frameworks like J2EE and Spring Boot is essential,
along with a solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles. Familiarity with API development and integration, cloud architecture—particularly AWS—and security best practices is required. Hands-on experience with tools like Git, Maven, JFrog, and automated code modernization tools like AWS Transform Custom (ATX) is highly advantageous.
The candidate must demonstrate proficiency in database management (SQL or NoSQL), microservices architecture, REST and SOAP API development, and cloud deployment. Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience working in Agile environments are also critical for success in this role.
Responsibilities The Associate Architect will be responsible for a broad range of technical and client-facing activities, including but not limited to:
- Engaging with clients to understand project requirements, providing technical consultation, and managing project briefing, installation, and review processes.
- Supporting the design, development, enhancement, and modernization of enterprise Java applications, ensuring alignment with client needs and industry best practices.
- Managing customer demands effectively to maximize satisfaction while maintaining high standards of quality and performance.
- Negotiating project scope, resource allocation, and infrastructure requirements, and creating comprehensive technical documentation.
- Supervising activities between internal teams and external vendors, ensuring smooth workflow and timely delivery of projects.
- Evaluating project data for accuracy, setting project targets, and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines and quality standards.
- Mentoring team members through training, code reviews, and technical guidance to foster continuous improvement and skill development.
- Staying current with technological trends, researching new tools,
and implementing innovative solutions to enhance project outcomes.
- Reviewing technical demands and instructions from clients, and assisting teams in identifying optimal methods for deployment, maintenance, and usage of delivered applications.
- Ensuring APIs are robust, secure, and maintainable, while coordinating with cross-functional teams working across different infrastructure layers.
- Carrying out research and development activities to identify new trends, tools, and practices that can be leveraged for project success.
- Executing other technical duties as required, including troubleshooting, performance optimization, and ensuring adherence to coding and architecture standards.
