About the role:

The In-Licensing Lead in Macleods Pharmaceuticals Ltd is a senior leadership role focused on driving growth by identifying, evaluating, and acquiring external products, technologies, or assets to enhance the company's portfolio. This role will direct the full licensing lifecyclefrom market scouting and scientific due diligence to negotiating commercial termsto expand therapeutic areas and market reach.

Key Responsibilities:

- Strategic Sourcing: Identify and screen potential in-licensing opportunities, including recent molecules, generic portfolios, or technologies, by monitoring innovator pipelines and market trends.
- Due Diligence & Valuation: Lead comprehensive due diligence (scientific, technical, intellectual property, regulatory, and commercial) to assess the feasibility and value of assets.
- Negotiation & Deal Closure: Lead negotiations for term sheets and definitive agreements (licensing, distribution, partnership)



to secure favourable commercial terms.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Coordinate with R&D;, Regulatory, Legal, Clinical, and Supply Chain teams to evaluate assets and manage product transfer.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain robust relationships with potential partners, biotech companies, and industry experts.
- Strategic Reporting: Present business cases and ROI analyses to senior management and board members.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

- Experience: 10+ years of experience in pharma/biotech business development, with a proven track record in successful in-licensing, M&A;, or licensing, often requiring 3-8 years for similar roles.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or related field required; MBA preferred.
- Functional Expertise: Strong understanding of drug development processes, intellectual property (IP), regulatory frameworks (FDA, EMEA, etc.), and financial modelling (NPV, valuation).
- Soft Skills: Exceptional negotiation, communication, leadership, and networking skills.

Performance Indicators (KPIs)

- Number of closed in-licensing deals.
- Growth in portfolio revenue/pipeline strength.
- Accuracy of market analysis and asset valuation.
- Speed of deal execution and integration.
