Company Description The Dr M Chandrasekhar International Foundation is one of the world’s largest non-profit organizations focused on charitable initiatives in education, empowerment, and health across 18 Indian states and 4 Union Territories. Established in 2016 and headquartered in New Delhi, the foundation runs a Free Education program for children in government schools, with a special focus on orphans and underprivileged learners.
The program is designed to improve school attendance and performance, supporting students through graduation and, in special cases, extending support to non-government institutions such as orphanages and schools for learners who are blind. The foundation’s mission is to feed 10 million underprivileged children in India by 2030 while expanding access to quality education. It actively encourages community engagement and social networking to drive meaningful change for children and families.
Role Description The HR Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in New Delhi, responsible for overseeing all human resources functions for the foundation’s staff and volunteers. The HR Manager will manage end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning to support programs across multiple states and territories.
Day-to-day responsibilities include developing HR policies, maintaining employee records, coordinating payroll and benefits administration, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and organizational guidelines. The role also involves managing performance review processes, supporting Learning & Development initiatives, handling employee relations and grievance resolution,
and promoting a positive, inclusive workplace culture. The HR Manager will collaborate closely with program leaders and senior management to align HR practices with the foundation’s mission and operational needs.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess robust core HR skills, including recruitment and selection, onboarding, employee relations, and performance management.
- Candidates should possess skills in HR policy development, compliance with labor regulations, and maintaining accurate HR documentation and records.
- Candidates should possess organizational and administrative skills, including attention to detail, time management, and proficiency with HRIS and MS Office tools.
- Candidates should possess communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills to effectively engage with staff, volunteers, and external partners.
- Candidates should possess leadership and team management capabilities, with the ability to guide HR staff and influence stakeholders across the foundation.
- Relevant qualifications such as a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; a master’s degree or HR certifications (e.g., SHRM, CIPD, or equivalent) are advantageous.
- Experience working in non-profit, social impact, or education-focused organizations, particularly in India, is beneficial, along with a demonstrated commitment to child welfare and community development.
- Ability to work on-site in New Delhi, with readiness to coordinate with teams across different regions and occasionally travel as required.
