Looking for a Development Engineer with strong experience in automotive part development, manufacturing feasibility, fabrication and welding. The role involves end-to-end development and industrialization of pressing and fabricated parts from engineering specification to PPAP and production.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop pressing, sheet-metal, fabrication and welded parts as per engineering drawings/specifications.
- Review GD&T;, critical characteristics and manufacturing feasibility and provide DFM/DFA inputs.
- Define manufacturing process routes, tooling, fixtures and welding processes.
- Coordinate with R&D;, Quality, suppliers and tooling vendors for NPD activities.
- Handle APQP, PFMEA, Control Plan, PPAP and process validation.
- Conduct supplier process reviews, trials and development audits to achieve QCD targets.
- Support part/tool costing, target cost and cost reduction activities.
- Drive process improvement, automation and Poka-Yoke initiatives.
- Ensure timely part development as per project milestones and support SOP readiness.
- Working knowledge of SAP MM is preferred.
