Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Food Canning Production Manager to oversee and manage the complete production process of canned food products. The candidate will be responsible for production planning, manpower management, quality control, food safety, productivity, and ensuring timely production as per company standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan, organize, and supervise daily food canning production activities.
- Manage the complete production process including raw material preparation, processing, filling, sealing, sterilization/retort, cooling, labeling, and packing.
- Ensure production targets are achieved while maintaining product quality and safety standards.
- Monitor production schedules, manpower, machinery, and material requirements.
- Ensure compliance with FSSAI, HACCP, GMP, and other applicable food safety standards.
- Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, Purchase, Stores, and Dispatch teams.
- Monitor production losses, wastage, downtime, and overall production efficiency.
- Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain production records, batch reports, inventory consumption, and daily production reports.
- Ensure proper cleaning, sanitation, hygiene, and workplace safety practices.
- Train and guide production staff and ensure adherence to SOPs.
- Monitor machine performance and coordinate with the maintenance team for preventive and breakdown maintenance.




- Conduct regular checks to ensure proper canning, sealing, sterilization, and packaging.
- Support new product trials and process improvement initiatives.
- Control production costs and minimize wastage without compromising quality.
- Ensure finished products meet required quality and shelf-life standards.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Food Technology, Food Science, Production, or a related field.
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in food processing/canning/FMCG manufacturing.
- Solid knowledge of food processing, canning, retort/sterilization, packaging, and food safety.
- Good knowledge of production planning, manpower handling, and process optimization.
- Familiarity with HACCP, GMP, FSSAI, and food safety practices.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

- Experience in canned fruits, vegetables, sauces, ready-to-eat food, or similar products.
- Knowledge of production MIS and Excel/ERP systems.
- Ability to manage production teams and work under production deadlines.
- Strong focus on quality, hygiene, safety, and productivity.
