Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Development Manager to lead a high-performing engineering team responsible for designing, developing, and delivering scalable, high-availability enterprise applications. This role combines solid technical leadership with people management, ensuring engineering excellence, timely delivery, and continuous improvement across the software development lifecycle.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader with deep expertise in Java-based backend systems, distributed architectures, and Agile software development, while fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and quality.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers, fostering a high-performance engineering culture.

- Drive end-to-end delivery of software projects, ensuring quality, scalability, and timely execution.

- Provide technical leadership in designing and developing distributed, event-driven, and microservices-based applications.

- Collaborate with Product Management, Architecture, QA, DevOps, and SRE teams to define technical solutions and delivery plans.

- Review system architecture, application design, and code to ensure adherence to engineering best practices.

- Champion engineering excellence through code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, performance optimization, and secure coding practices.

- Drive Agile delivery by managing sprint planning, execution, estimations, and release commitments.

- Identify and mitigate technical risks, remove delivery impediments, and ensure predictable project execution.





- Support production stability by driving root cause analysis, performance tuning, and continuous operational improvements.

- Recruit, coach, and develop engineering talent while promoting continuous learning and career growth.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

- 10 years of software development experience, with at least 3 years in an Engineering or Development Manager role.

- Strong experience building scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.

- Hands-on experience with Kafka, multithreading/concurrency, and distributed systems.

- Strong database expertise with Oracle PL/SQL and relational database design.

- Experience with containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.

- Strong understanding of microservices architecture, REST APIs, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development methodologies.

- Proven experience leading engineering teams and delivering complex enterprise software projects.

Preferred Skills
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).

- Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools.

- Experience in performance tuning, scalability, and high-availability systems.

- Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and secure software development.

- Experience working in highly regulated or mission-critical enterprise environments.
