Position Summary The Engineering Project Manager (EPM) is a senior technical-commercial role responsible for driving New Product Introduction (NPI) programs from concept to mass production (MP) for key customer packaging and component projects. Working at the intersection of engineering, operations, and customer management, the EPM owns the project schedule, technical deliverable milestones, and cross-functional resource coordination to meet the Customer's aggressive NPI timelines and stringent quality gates. The EPM acts as the primary technical interface with the Customer's Hardware Engineering, Industrial Design (ID), and Supply Chain teams throughout the product development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

1. NPI Program Leadership

- Own end-to-end NPI program management for the Customer product programs across EVT (Engineering Validation Test), DVT (Design Validation Test), PVT (Production Validation Test), and MP ramp phases.
- Develop, maintain, and drive the integrated master project schedule (IMS) with clear milestones, critical path analysis, and resource allocation.
- Lead internal NPI kick-off meetings, gate reviews, and cross-functional alignment sessions; chair weekly program status meetings with the Customer's counterparts.
- Define and track project risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies (RAID log); proactively escalate blockers to the Customer and internal leadership.

2. Technical Interface with Key Customer

- Serve as the primary engineering point of contact for the Customer's Hardware Engineering (HWE), Industrial Design (ID), and Packaging Engineering teams.
- Review and interpret the Customer's engineering specifications (GD&T;, material specs, structural requirements, cosmetic standards) and translate into actionable internal engineering tasks.
- Coordinate design reviews (PDR, CDR, FDR) and ensure all engineering changes are captured, assessed for impact, and executed within agreed timelines.
- Lead the preparation and submission of PPAP documentation packages, ISIR reports, FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), and Control Plans to the Customer's quality engineering team.

3. Cross-Functional Coordination

- Coordinate and align across internal functions: Tooling Engineering, Process Engineering, Quality (SQE/MQE), Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Finance.
- Work with tooling and process teams to manage tool design, build, trials, and approval per the Customer's tooling qualification checklist.
- Support the Customer's Supplier Quality Engineers (SQEs) during process audits, capacity studies (Cpk/Ppk analysis), and first article inspections.
- Collaborate with CS PM on customer-facing communications related to NPI timelines,

ECO impacts, and capacity readiness.

4. Mass Production Ramp Support

- Drive yield improvement and cycle time reduction initiatives during MP ramp, working closely with process and quality engineers.
- Manage engineering change implementation post-MP launch: ECO workflow, BOM updates, inventory disposition, and customer notification.
- Support Value Engineering (VE) / Cost Reduction initiatives proposed to the Customer while maintaining form-fit-function requirements.
- Participate in the Customer's Production Readiness Reviews (PRR) and provide data-backed readiness assessments.

5. Documentation & Compliance

- Maintain rigorous engineering project documentation in the Customer's designated collaboration tools (Keynote decks, Numbers trackers, iSCM project portals, Radius, or equivalent).
- Ensure all engineering activities comply with the Customer's Supplier Technical Requirements (STRs), IPC standards, and applicable regulatory requirements (REACH, RoHS, CA Prop 65).
- Manage and control all supplier-side design documents, drawings, and specifications under a robust document control system.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

- Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Master's degree or MBA with engineering background is preferred.

Experience

- 7+ years of experience in engineering project management or NPI management within a precision manufacturing workplace (packaging, metals, plastics, composites, or electronics).

- Proven track record of successfully launching products from prototype to mass production with 1M+ unit volumes.
- Experience managing complex multi-site programs (India + China coordination is a strong plus for this role).

Technical Skills

- Deep understanding of the Customer's NPI process: EVT/DVT/PVT/MP gate definitions, deliverable requirements, and quality criteria.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, GD&T;, 3D CAD models (CATIA, SolidWorks, or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes relevant to packaging: die-cutting, UV printing,

specialty coatings, lamination, soft-touch finishing, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA (Measurement System Analysis), and SPC (Statistical Process Control).
- Proficiency in MS Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent project scheduling tools; advanced Excel; Keynote.
