Role Overview The E&I; Engineer (Controls) will be responsible for engineering, reviewing, and executing Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls activities for Oil and Gas, Water Treatment or Water Condensation Packages. The role will focus on package engineering, control system design, instrumentation selection, vendor coordination, and integration of package controls with plant-level control systems.

This role requires strong Controls and Automation experience, along with a good understanding of electrical and instrumentation systems, to ensure that packages operate safely, reliably, and efficiently in accordance with project and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and review E&I; engineering deliverables for Packages, including instrument indexes, I/O lists, datasheets, cable schedules, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, and control schematics.
- Develop and review Control Philosophy, Control Narratives, Functional Design Specifications (FDS), Cause & Effect diagrams, alarm and interlock requirements, and sequence of operations.
- Define and review instrumentation requirements for pressure, temperature, flow, level, conductivity, pH, and other process parameters associated with water condensation and treatment systems.
- Lead the controls engineering activities for package equipment, including PLC, HMI/SCADA, control panels, remote I/O, VFDs, valves, pumps, and associated control devices.
- Review and validate PLC/DCS control logic, HMI functionality, alarms, permissive, interlocks, trips, and automatic operating sequences.




- Coordinate integration of package PLC/control systems with plant DCS, SCADA, BMS, or other higher-level control systems.
- Participate in technical discussions, design reviews, HAZOP/HAZID activities, vendor meetings, and client reviews as required.
- Support preparation and execution of FAT, SAT, commissioning, and functional testing of package controls and instrumentation.
- Troubleshoot instrumentation, PLC, HMI, communication, control logic, and package interface issues during testing and commissioning.
- Ensure engineering deliverables comply with applicable project specifications, client standards, IEC/ISA and relevant electrical/instrumentation standards.
- Support supplier selection and technical evaluation by reviewing E&I; and Controls capabilities, technical offers, and compliance with specifications.
- Contribute to control system reliability, automation improvements, standardization, cost optimization, and package performance improvements.
- Troubleshoot instrumentation, PLC, HMI, communication, control logic, and package interface issues during testing and commissioning.

Qualifications and Experience

- Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, Control Engineering, Electronics
- 10-14 years of experience in E&I; engineering, Controls & Automation, package engineering,
- Robust experience in PLC/DCS/SCADA-based control systems, preferably in industrial package
- Experience with water condensation, water treatment, utility, cooling water, filtration, or similar process packages is preferred.
- Strong understanding of instrumentation, control valves, pumps, motors, VFDs, control panels and industrial communication systems.
- Experience in preparing/reviewing I/O lists, Control Narratives, FDS, Cause & Effect diagrams, alarm/interlock matrices, and sequence logic.
- Experience with PLC platforms such as Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider, ABB, or equivalent.
