About the Role
Mody University of Science and Technology invites applications for the position of Demonstrator Physiotherapy, a non-academic position supporting practical, clinical and skill-based training activities.
The Demonstrator will assist faculty members in practical sessions, clinical training, Physiotherapy OPD operations, student supervision, assessments, laboratory coordination and departmental activities under the supervision of the Head of Department and designated faculty members.
Key Responsibilities
1. Practical & Skill-Based Training
- Assist faculty in conducting practical classes, demonstrations, skill stations and competency-based training.
- Support preparation of laboratories, equipment, treatment areas, consumables and simulation arrangements.
- Demonstrate prescribed physiotherapy assessment and treatment procedures under faculty supervision.
- Support students in practical skill development while ensuring safety, hygiene and professional standards.
- Assist in maintaining practical manuals, competency checklists, attendance and student records.
- Support OSCE/OSPE preparation, station setup and practical assessments.
2. Clinical Training & Hospital Coordination
- Assist faculty in clinical training at the University Physiotherapy OPD, affiliated hospitals, rehabilitation centres and community settings.
- Accompany and supervise students during assigned clinical postings.
- Monitor student attendance, discipline, patient interaction and completion of clinical activities.
- Coordinate with designated hospital personnel and report clinical-posting concerns to the concerned faculty/HOD.
- Support clinical demonstrations, case discussions,
logbook completion and competency tracking.
- Assist with hospital visits, clinical affiliation documentation and coordination activities.
3. Physiotherapy OPD Operations
- Support day-to-day functioning of the Physiotherapy OPD, including patient registration, appointment scheduling and treatment-area allocation.
- Assist with patient documentation, records, follow-up information and outcome-measure forms while maintaining confidentiality.
- Ensure readiness, cleanliness and safe functioning of treatment equipment, couches, assistive devices and consumables.
- Maintain stock registers, equipment-use records, consumable records and maintenance-related documentation.
- Support implementation of infection-control, biomedical-waste, patient-safety and emergency-response procedures.
- Assist in community camps, screening programmes, awareness activities and outreach services.
4. Assessment & Examination Support
- Assist faculty and examiners in organizing practical, clinical and competency-based assessments.
- Support examination venue preparation, equipment setup, OSCE/OSPE stations and student coordination.
- Assist in maintaining attendance sheets, assessment documentation and examination records.
- Support practical and clinical performance evaluation only under the direction of authorized faculty/examiners.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity of assessment and examination processes.
5. Departmental & Administrative Support
- Maintain laboratory, OPD, equipment, stock and departmental records as assigned.
- Support student orientation, workshops, conferences, camps, outreach activities and University events.
- Assist with procurement, stock verification, asset management, safety checks and departmental readiness.
- Provide logistical support for clinical postings, examinations, practical sessions and departmental activities.
- Undertake other practical training, clinical-support, assessment-support and departmental responsibilities assigned by the HOD, Dean or University authorities.
Essential Eligibility
- BPT (Bachelor of Physiotherapy) from a recognized Indian University or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant clinical and/or teaching-support experience in a full time regular capacity.
- Valid registration with the relevant State Physiotherapy Council, State Allied and Healthcare Professions Council, or other applicable statutory registering authority, as per prevailing regulations.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- MPT in Musculoskeletal Sciences / Orthopaedic Physiotherapy – for one position.
- MPT in Neurosciences / Neurological Physiotherapy – for one position.
- Experience in Physiotherapy OPD management, practical demonstrations, clinical postings, laboratory coordination and student supervision.
- Certification or demonstrated competency in BLS/CPR, infection control, patient safety, clinical documentation or other relevant clinical skills.
