Community Manager – Events, Nightlife & Partnerships

Mehico is a bar forwatd destination in the heart of Kolkata — playful, energetic and built around great drinks, bold food and a sense of fun.

We’re looking for a Community Manager to build momentum around Mehico — driving events, collaborations, community and repeat footfall, and making sure the right people in Kolkata discover it, experience it and keep coming back.

This is not a desk-bound social media role.

Your job is to be out there — meeting people, creating reasons to visit, building relationships, programming outstanding nights and turning guests into regulars.

Drive the nights. Build the community. Keep the momentum growing.

What You'll Do

Events & Programming

- Create and execute a strong calendar of events and experiences
- Develop recurring Mehico properties that people begin to recognise and look forward to
- Work across DJs and music, cocktails, guest bartenders, food, art, fashion, culture and creator-led experiences
- Own events from idea → collaboration → promotion → guest list/RSVP → on-ground execution → results
- Measure success through actual attendance, revenue, repeat participation and impact on footfall — not just reach

Own the Weak Nights

Understand Mehico's business by day and daypart.

Identify where we need traction and create programming, partnerships and community activation to improve it.

We're not looking for someone whose first answer is a discount or generic happy hour.

Create reasons to come.

Build the Community

Build genuine relationships across Kolkata's:

- Music & nightlife community
- Art, fashion & design
- Advertising & creative industries
- Founders & young professionals
- Hospitality community
- Creators & tastemakers
- Corporate and social communities
- Complementary lifestyle brands

Know who's coming to Mehico, who should be coming,



who brings other interesting people with them — and how we get them to return.

Cocktails & Bar Culture

Mehico is cocktail-forward. The bar should be an important part of its community.

Work with our bar team on:

- Guest bartender shifts
- Cocktail-led experiences
- New-menu moments
- Tastings and discovery formats
- Brand collaborations
- Bar-community nights
- Recurring cocktail properties

You don't need to be a bartender. But you should genuinely understand and enjoy bars, hospitality and nightlife.

Creators, Partnerships & Collaborations

- Build relationships with relevant Kolkata creators and tastemakers
- Look beyond follower counts and find people who actually influence where their communities go out
- Identify interesting brands, artists, DJs, bartenders, chefs, designers and communities Mehico should collaborate with
- Pitch ideas, build the relationship and execute them
- Coordinate with our PR and social agencies where required

Regulars & Guest Relationships

Help turn visitors into regulars.

Build and activate a useful guest community — regulars, VIPs, event attendees, creators, cocktail enthusiasts, community leaders and lapsed guests.

Use it intelligently for events, invitations, birthdays, new menus and reactivation.

We're not interested in collecting phone numbers. We're interested in building relationships.

Social & Real-Time Storytelling

Our social media agency handles regular content creation and posting.

You'll help them understand what's actually happening inside Mehico — the people, events,



spontaneous moments and energy worth talking about.

You'll also step in for live/on-ground content and community conversations when needed.

How We'll Measure Success

We care about outcomes, not activity for activity's sake.

Success will be measured through:

- Event attendance and revenue
- Improvement in targeted weak nights
- RSVP-to-actual-attendance conversion
- Repeat attendance at recurring properties
- Footfall generated through activations and partnerships
- Quality and growth of Mehico's active community
- Relevant collaborations created
- Regular and repeat guest development
- Effectiveness of creator partnerships
- Performance of cocktail/bar activations
- ROI on event and community spends

Who We're Looking For

You could come from restaurants, bars, nightlife, events, experiential marketing, music, lifestyle PR, hospitality, creator marketing, fashion, art or community building.

Your previous designation matters less than whether you can actually do the job.

You should be

- Naturally social and a great relationship-builder
- Plugged into Kolkata — or hungry enough to become plugged in quickly
- Someone who genuinely enjoys going out and understands what makes a great night
- Culturally curious and full of ideas
- More interested in executing than making presentations
- Commercial enough to understand that a full room matters
- Comfortable with guests, creators, DJs, bartenders, agencies and brands
- Organised and accountable
- Comfortable working evenings and weekends when the action is happening
- Someone who would rather be in the room making something happen than behind a laptop talking about it

You're primarily looking for a social-media/content-posting role.

Mehico is already here. Now we're looking for someone who can make sure Kolkata keeps finding reasons to come back.
