Job Requirements*
- 610 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably supporting life insurance finance transformation or reporting initiatives.
- Strong experience in business analysis, requirement elicitation, process mapping, functional documentation, and stakeholder management.
- Hands-on knowledge of US GAAP insurance accounting and LDTI (ASU 2018-12) reporting and compliance requirements.
- Understanding of insurance liability accounting, including reserves, Liability for Future Policy Benefits (LFPB), and Deferred Acquisition Costs (DAC).
- Experience in financial reporting, period-close processes, variance analysis, reconciliations, regulatory reporting, and financial controls.
- Ability to analyze and reconcile Finance and Actuarial data and translate business needs into clear functional requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Experience working across Finance, Actuarial, Data, and Technology teams in a life and annuity insurance environment.
- Proficiency in Advanced Excel and SQL; working knowledge of Power BI or Tableau, Databricks, DataHub, Jira, and Azure DevOps is preferred.
- Exposure to actuarial platforms such as Prophet or AXIS is an advantage.
Key Responsibilities*
- Support US GAAP and LDTI reporting, transformation, and compliance initiatives for Banner Life.
- Gather, analyze, document, validate, and manage business and functional requirements, process flows, data mappings, and acceptance criteria.
- Analyze and reconcile Finance and Actuarial data; investigate variances, data-quality issues, and reporting exceptions.
- Support financial reporting, close activities, variance analysis, insurance liability accounting, regulatory compliance, and control validation.
- Coordinate testing strategy, test scenarios, defect triage, user acceptance testing (UAT), implementation readiness, and post-implementation validation.
- Act as the liaison between Finance, Actuarial, Data, and Technology stakeholders to ensure shared understanding and timely resolution of issues.
- Use enterprise data and reporting tools to support analysis, traceability, reporting, and management updates.
- Maintain explicit documentation and provide concise status, risk, dependency, and issue updates to stakeholders.
