Hiring a CA-qualified AVP to own fund accounting, NAV computation and financial control across its Portfolio Management Services and Alternative Investment Fund schemes. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the incumbent is accountable for the accuracy and timeliness of scheme books, NAV, financial statements and regulatory reporting across multiple funds running simultaneously.

nThe role is the technical authority on fund accounting within the platform and carries one junior direct report. Investor onboarding, KYC and client servicing sit with a separate Fund Operations team; this role partners closely with that function on reconciliations and investor-level reporting.

nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES

n1. Fund Accounting & NAV

nOwn end-to-end fund accounting for PMS and AIF schemes across Category I, Category II and Category III structures.

nReview and sign off NAV computation, unit capital, expense accruals, income recognition and portfolio valuation.

nEnsure accurate accounting for investments, corporate actions, accrued income, management fees, carried interest and hurdle / catch-up computations.

nMaintain scheme-wise books of account, capital accounts and distribution waterfalls with full audit trail.

n2. Financial Control & Reporting

nReview and finalise scheme financial statements in line with applicable accounting standards and SEBI reporting requirements.

nDesign and enforce the financial control framework maker–checker, reconciliation controls, cut-off discipline and month-end close calendar.

nManage scheme-level cash flows, expense control, TER monitoring and investment accounting across multiple schemes.

nPrepare management MIS on fund performance, expense ratios, fee accruals and profitability for the COO and leadership.

n3. Audit, Statutory & Regulatory

nOwn the statutory and internal audit cycle for all schemes — lead auditor interaction and close observations to resolution.

nLiaise with statutory auditors, custodians, fund accountants,



registrars, trustees and tax advisors.

nEnsure timely periodic filings with SEBI, custodians and other regulatory authorities, with complete supporting documentation.

nManage direct and indirect tax matters at scheme level, including withholding tax, Form 64C/64D issuance and GST implications.

n4. Process Improvement & Automation

nLead implementation and optimisation of best-in-class fund accounting systems.

nAutomate NAV packs, reconciliations and reporting through Excel, Google Sheets and platform-based workflows.

nEstablish SOPs, checklists and control mechanisms to institutionalise process discipline as the platform scales.

n5. Team Leadership

nSupervise, train and review the work of the Fund Accounting Analyst / Manager reporting into this role.

nBuild technical depth in the team on AIF accounting, valuation and regulatory reporting.

nKEY SKILLS REQUIRED

nDeep working knowledge of SEBI AIF and PMS Regulations, fund structures, valuation norms and compliance requirements.

nAdvanced expertise in fund accounting, NAV computation, reconciliation, investor reporting and financial control.

nStrong command of applicable accounting standards and scheme-level financial statement preparation.

nProficiency in fund accounting software, advanced Excel, Google Sheets and automation tools.

nProven track record of handling statutory audits, regulatory filings and investor-level reporting.

nExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work across operations, compliance and investment teams.

nPREFERRED BACKGROUND

nMandatory experience within an AIF workplace — AIF fund house, asset management firm, investment advisory or fund accounting firm servicing AIFs.

nDemonstrated track record of managing multiple funds simultaneously.

nExposure to both domestic and offshore fund structures will be an added advantage.

nEDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

nChartered Accountant (CA) — mandatory. Additional CFA / MBA (Finance) will be an advantage.
