Position: Assistant Professor

Department: Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE)

Location: SITM, garoghuli, garchuk, guwahati

Reporting To: Head of Department / Dean Academics

About the Role

We are looking for a competent and passionate Assistant Professor in Electronics & Communication Engineering with strong conceptual knowledge and a genuine interest in teaching and mentoring students.

The ideal candidate should be able to explain fundamental and advanced ECE concepts clearly, connect theory with practical applications, and contribute to laboratory, project, research, and academic development activities of the department.

Key Areas of Expertise The candidate should have a strong academic and conceptual understanding of one or more of the following areas:

- VLSI System Design
- Analog Integrated Circuits
- Microcontrollers and Embedded System Design
- Antenna, Wave and Propagation
- Digital Electronics and Electronic Circuits
- Semiconductor Devices and IC Design
- Embedded Systems and Hardware Interfacing
- Communication Systems, as applicable

Key Responsibilities

Teaching and Academics

- Deliver engaging and effective lectures for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Develop course plans, lecture materials, assignments, quizzes, and laboratory exercises.
- Explain complex ECE concepts in a simple, structured, and application-oriented manner.
- Conduct practical and laboratory sessions and guide students in hardware-based experiments.
- Use simulations, demonstrations, case studies, and real-world examples to strengthen conceptual understanding.




- Prepare students for university examinations as well as industry-oriented skills.

Student Mentoring

- Mentor students academically and guide them in projects, internships, competitions, and career development.
- Support students in developing practical problem-solving and engineering skills.
- Guide final-year projects in areas such as VLSI, embedded systems, antenna design, analog ICs, and related ECE domains.

Departmental Responsibilities

- Participate in curriculum development, question paper setting, evaluation, and academic planning.
- Contribute to laboratory development and upgradation of ECE facilities.
- Participate in departmental events, workshops, seminars, technical competitions, and industry interaction.
- Maintain academic records and comply with institutional academic processes.

Essential Qualifications
- M.E./M.Tech./ in Electronics & Communication Engineering or a closely related discipline, as per applicable AICTE/UGC and university norms.
- Strong academic record.
- Good command over core ECE subjects.
- Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate engineering students effectively.

Desired Skills
- Strong conceptual clarity in electronics and communication engineering.
- Excellent classroom teaching and presentation skills.
- Ability to simplify complex technical concepts.




- Hands-on understanding of VLSI design, embedded systems, microcontrollers, analog ICs, and antenna/RF concepts.
- Ability to conduct practical laboratory sessions effectively.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Student-centric approach to teaching and mentoring.
- Familiarity with relevant simulation/design tools is desirable, such as Cadence, MATLAB/Simulink, LTspice, Multisim, HFSS/CST, Xilinx/Vivado, or similar tools, depending on the area of specialization.

Experience
- Freshers with excellent academic credentials and strong conceptual knowledge may be considered.
- Teaching experience in an engineering college/university will be preferred.
- Candidates with relevant industry, R&D;, VLSI, embedded systems, semiconductor, RF/microwave, or electronics design experience will have an added advantage.
