Associate Director Public Finance -Credit Analysis - Infra/Real estate- 15 Years -Mumbai/Pune/Gurugram
We are looking for an experienced Associate Director Public Finance to lead credit analysis and research activities covering public finance entities, municipal bodies, state governments, public sector enterprises, and infrastructure-linked entities.
The role will involve conducting detailed credit assessments, evaluating financial and economic fundamentals, presenting credit recommendations to senior committees, monitoring issuer portfolios, and contributing to sector research and market intelligence. The position also offers an opportunity to mentor analysts, manage senior stakeholders, and support client engagement and business development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
1. Lead end-to-end credit analysis of public finance entities, including states, local governments, municipalities, public sector enterprises, and infrastructure projects.
2. Evaluate financial statements, budgets, debt profiles, cash flows, economic indicators, fiscal position, governance frameworks, and repayment capacity.
3. Assess creditworthiness and identify key financial, operational, economic, and structural credit risks.
4. Prepare detailed credit analysis and present recommendations to senior management and rating committees.
5. Monitor an assigned portfolio of issuers and proactively identify emerging credit risks, rating triggers, and changes in credit quality.

Conduct research on public finance sectors and contribute to sector reports, market commentary, thematic studies, and thought leadership.
7. Interact with issuers, investors, bankers, advisors, government/public-sector stakeholders, and other market participants.
8. Mentor and guide junior analysts on credit assessment, financial analysis, rating methodologies, and research practices.
9. Ensure compliance with established rating methodologies, regulatory requirements, analytical standards, and quality processes.
10. Support business development, client engagement, and relationship-building initiatives within the public finance practice.
Requirements
1. 15+ years of relevant experience in Public Finance, Credit Ratings, Credit Research, Municipal Finance, Infrastructure Finance, or related areas.
2. Strong understanding of public finance, municipal finance, government finances, public sector financing, and capital markets.
3. Demonstrated experience in conducting end-to-end credit assessments and presenting recommendations to senior/rating committees.
4. Strong expertise in financial statement analysis, ratio analysis, cash-flow analysis, debt assessment, and credit risk evaluation.
5. Experience managing or mentoring analysts/associates or small analytical teams.
6. Excellent research, report writing, presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
7. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Public Policy, or a related discipline.
8. MBA, CFA, CA, FRM, Master's degree, or equivalent qualification will be preferred.
9. Exposure to rating agencies, credit research organizations, financial institutions, infrastructure finance, or capital markets will be an advantage.
