About the Role

Manjiman is looking for a creative, enthusiastic and detail-oriented Assistant Fashion Designer to join our team.

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of fashion design and a good eye for colour, prints, fabrics and aesthetics. You should be confident in creating original prints and design concepts, while also being comfortable interacting with clients and understanding their requirements.

This is a hands-on role for someone who is creative, organised, diligent and eager to learn and grow within a fashion brand.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist with the development of new fashion collections and design concepts.
- Create and develop original prints, motifs, patterns and surface designs.
- Research current fashion, colour, fabric and print trends for inspiration.
- Develop mood boards, colour stories and design presentations.
- Assist with fabric, print and colour selection.
- Work closely with the senior designer/team to develop designs from concept to final product.
- Make design adaptations and revisions based on feedback.
- Communicate with clients, understand their requirements and assist in taking and processing orders.
- Maintain clear records of client requirements, orders, designs and samples.
- Coordinate with printers, vendors, tailors and other production teams when required.
- Follow up on samples, approvals and production requirements.
- Ensure that designs and orders are executed accurately and on time.
- Stay organised with multiple projects and deadlines.




- Contribute ideas and actively participate in the creative process and day-to-day functioning of the design team.

Requirements
- 1–2 years of relevant work experience in fashion design.
- Strong understanding of fashion design and garment aesthetics.
- Good at creating prints, motifs and patterns and developing original design concepts.
- Good knowledge of colour, fabrics, textures and garment construction.
- Proficiency in relevant design software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop is preferred.
- A good eye for detail and a solid sense of aesthetics.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to speak with clients.
- Ability to understand a client's brief and translate it into design ideas.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Willingness to take responsibility and follow through on tasks.
- Diligent, hardworking, proactive and dependable.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
