Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Assistant Chief Engineer role based in the Greater Bengaluru Area.
The Assistant Chief
Engineer will support the Chief Engineer in managing day-to-day engineering and maintenance operations across hotels, restaurants, and resort facilities.
Responsibilities include overseeing preventive and corrective maintenance of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, ensuring safety and compliance with regulatory standards, and coordinating with vendors and contractors for repairs and projects. The role involves monitoring energy usage, optimizing building systems, maintaining equipment records, and assisting with budget planning for the engineering department.
The Assistant Chief
Engineer will also guide and supervise the maintenance team, respond promptly to guest or operational issues,
and collaborate with other departments to minimize downtime and maintain high service standards.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in hotel or hospitality facility engineering, including oversight of building systems, equipment maintenance, and infrastructure reliability.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, with the ability to diagnose issues and coordinate effective technical solutions.
- Experience implementing preventive maintenance schedules, safety procedures, and compliance with local building, fire, and environmental regulations.
- Ability to supervise and train maintenance staff, allocate tasks, and maintain clear communication with operations, front office, and F&B; teams.
- Proficiency in using maintenance management tools or software, basic MS Office skills, and comfort with documenting work orders and asset histories.
- Relevant technical qualification such as a diploma or degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering (or equivalent). Additional certifications in facility management or safety are advantageous.
- Strong problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills, with the capacity to work in a fast-paced hospitality setting and handle multiple priorities.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as required by hotel and resort operations.
