1. ROLE PURPOSE
The Assistant Manager – Accounts will be a key middle-management position responsible for managing day-to-day accounts operations, strengthening financial controls, ensuring timely and accurate accounting, and taking ownership of the company's implemented ERP system from the Accounts & Finance perspective. This is not only a data-entry or voucher-processing role.
The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that:
TRANSACTION → ERP ENTRY → VERIFICATION → CONTROL → REPORT → ANALYSIS is properly implemented and followed.
The role will act as a bridge between:
Management ↔ Accounts Team ↔ Other Departments ↔ ERP System
1. MOST IMPORTANT EXPECTATIONWE ARE NOT LOOKING FOR ONLY AN ACCOUNTANT.
We require a robust middle-management Accounts professional who can take ownership of daily accounting operations and ensure that the ERP system is properly implemented and used. The candidate must be capable of:
- Taking ownership of the Accounts function
- Managing the accounts team
- Reviewing day-to-day transactions
- Ensuring timely ERP entries
- Identifying accounting gaps
- Improving processes
- Coordinating with ERP implementation teams
- Identifying ERP errors and missing reports

- Following up with other departments for pending documents and data
- Escalating critical financial and system issues
Required Mindset: “If the process is manual, bring it into the system. If the ERP process is incomplete, identify the gap and close it. If the data is incorrect, correct the source and establish control.”
1. ERP TAKEOVER & OWNERSHIP RESPONSIBILITY
The company has already implemented an ERP system. The Assistant Manager – Accounts will be responsible for taking ownership of the Accounts-related ERP implementation and daily functioning.
This includes
A. ERP PROCESS REVIEW
- Understand all existing ERP accounting modules.
- Review the current implementation status.
- Identify pending modules and incomplete processes.
- Identify manual activities that should be shifted into ERP.
- Identify duplicate entries and control gaps.
- Review master data accuracy.
- Review accounting workflows.
C. ERP CONTROL The Assistant Manager – Accounts must ensure:
- Transactions are entered on time.
- Wrong entries are identified and corrected.
- Backdated entries are controlled.
- User access is properly monitored.
- Duplicate entries are avoided.
- Mandatory fields are completed.
- Reports are reconciled with source data.
- ERP data matches accounting records.
- Manual registers are progressively eliminated.
1. ERP COORDINATION & ISSUE CLOSURE
The Assistant Manager – Accounts will act as the internal owner for Accounts-related ERP issues.
Responsibilities
- Maintain ERP issue tracker.
- Record every system issue.
- Categorize issues as Critical / High / Medium / Low.
- Coordinate with the ERP vendor or internal implementation team.
- Follow up until closure.
- Test the solution before closing the issue.
- Ensure users are trained on the corrected process.
- Maintain documentation of process changes.
