Role & Responsibilities
- Independently handle accounting, bookkeeping, financial reporting, reconciliations, month-end/year-end closure and finalisation of financial statements.
- Handle and support statutory audits and tax audits, including preparation of audit schedules, working papers, financial statements and coordination with auditors.
- Handle direct tax compliances, including income-tax computations, Income Tax Returns, advance tax calculations and other applicable filings.
- Independently manage TDS/withholding tax compliances, including applicability analysis, monthly workings, payments, quarterly returns, reconciliations and related matters.
- Handle GST compliances, including return preparation/review, reconciliations, tax computations and related filings.
- Assist in handling Income Tax and GST notices, assessments and departmental queries, including preparation of responses, submissions and supporting documentation.
- Advise and assist clients on accounting, direct and indirect taxation, withholding tax and other financial and compliance matters.
- Handle or support international taxation matters, including DTAA analysis, cross-border transactions, non-resident payments, withholding tax, Form 15CA/15CB and Permanent Establishment considerations.
- Support transfer pricing compliance, documentation and related advisory assignments, wherever applicable.
- Analyse accounting and tax implications of domestic and cross-border business transactions and assist in transaction structuring.
- Undertake research on complex accounting, taxation and regulatory matters and prepare technical notes, opinions and client communications.
- Independently manage assigned client engagements and act as a point of contact for clients on routine accounting, tax and compliance matters.
- Plan and monitor assignments,
track statutory deadlines and ensure timely and accurate completion of deliverables.
- Review the work of junior team members and provide appropriate guidance and supervision, wherever required.
- Coordinate with clients, auditors, consultants, tax authorities and other stakeholders for completion of assignments.
- Maintain proper working papers, reconciliations, compliance trackers and supporting documentation.
- Keep abreast of changes in accounting standards, tax laws and regulatory requirements and assess their impact on client assignments.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Semi-Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or a graduate/postgraduate in Commerce, Accounting, Finance or Taxation with relevant practical experience.
- Qualification will not be a limiting factor for candidates possessing strong practical knowledge and the ability to independently handle accounting and taxation assignments.
- Relevant experience in accounting, financial reporting, statutory audit, tax audit, Income Tax, TDS and GST.
- Candidates with experience in a CA firm, consulting firm, qualified services organisation or similar client-facing environment will be preferred.
- Strong practical knowledge of accounting principles, Accounting Standards / Ind AS, financial statement preparation and reconciliations.
- Good working knowledge of Income Tax, TDS/withholding tax and GST provisions and related compliance requirements.
- Ability to independently prepare/review tax computations, returns, reconciliations,
financial statements and compliance workings.
- Knowledge and/or practical exposure to international taxation, DTAA, cross-border transactions, withholding tax and transfer pricing will be an added advantage.
- Experience in handling tax notices, assessments and departmental matters would be preferred.
- Ability to independently manage multiple client assignments and statutory deadlines with limited supervision.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to research and interpret accounting and tax regulations.
- Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients, auditors and other stakeholders.
- Ability to guide and review the work of junior team members, wherever required.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Tally and other accounting, tax and compliance platforms.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, responsible and committed to delivering accurate and quality work within prescribed timelines.
