About the Role

Macmillan Education India invites applications for the position of Academic Subject Matter Expert – Social Science to support the design, review, and implementation of an internationally benchmarked Global Curriculum initiative. The role requires strong academic expertise in social science (School-Level Social Sciences), along with proven experience in curriculum development within the education sector.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, review, and enhance the Social Science curriculum aligned with global standards and competency-based education.
- Map subject content to international curriculum frameworks and ensure coherence and progression across grades.
- Promote conceptual understanding, inquiry-based learning, analytical thinking, and global awareness through curriculum design.
- Develop assessment frameworks, question banks, and guidelines aligned with international learning benchmarks.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including government agencies and education boards, to ensure integrated and balanced curriculum design.
- Prepare high-quality academic content, reports, presentations, and project documentation.




- Support data-driven decision-making by applying basic research methodologies and data analysis tools.

Required Qualifications & Experience

- Master’s degree (or higher) in History, Geography, Political Science, Sociology, Anthropology, or a related Social Science discipline.
- 10+ years of professional experience, including 8+ years in the education sector( Teaching or Content Development) with strong experience in curriculum design, instructional design, and academic content development.
- Excellent academic writing, communication, and editorial skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders and interdisciplinary teams.
- Experience in using data-collection tools, digital survey platforms, and basic analytical techniques.

Desired Experience

- Strong understanding of national and international curriculum development frameworks.
- Experience with international curriculum or assessment projects will be an added advantage.
