Role Description The Special Educator will work on-site at Shridha School in Indore in a full-time capacity, supporting children with diverse learning needs.
Responsibilities include designing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), adapting curriculum and classroom activities, and providing direct instruction in academic, social, and life skills. The role involves conducting assessments, tracking progress, and maintaining clear documentation to inform instructional decisions.
The Special
Educator will collaborate closely with general educators, therapists, and school leadership to ensure integrated support for each child. Ongoing communication with families and caregivers, participation in team meetings,
and contribution to school-wide initiatives to enhance inclusive education are also part of the role.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in special education planning and delivery, including creating individualized education plans, adapting curriculum, and differentiating instruction.
- Competence in classroom management, behavior support, and positive reinforcement strategies to create a safe and encouraging learning environment.
- Assessment and documentation skills, including conducting educational evaluations, monitoring student progress, and maintaining accurate records.
- Collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, families, and external support providers.
- Empathy, patience, and cultural sensitivity when supporting children with learning difficulties and their families.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education, Education, Psychology, or a related field; relevant certifications in special education or inclusive education are preferred.
- Experience working with children with learning challenges, developmental delays, or neurodiverse profiles in a school or clinical setting.
- Ability to use basic educational technology and assistive tools to support differentiated teaching and learning.
- Proficiency in English and local languages as needed to communicate effectively with students and families.
