Hirely is recruiting on behalf of one of its hiring partners for a remote Software Engineer - Agentic Search Systems opportunity for engineers with hands-on experience building and scaling production search systems, particularly modern search systems powered by LLMs and AI agents.

The work focuses on understanding search quality, evaluation, retrieval, relevance, and the engineering tradeoffs involved in building reliable agentic search systems.

What You’ll Do:

You will discuss real-world search systems you have built or owned, including how you measured relevance and search quality, evaluated improvements, scaled supporting data infrastructure, and designed systems for agentic search. The interview focuses on your engineering judgment and experience rather than coding or take-home assignments.

Who We’re Looking For:

- Ideal candidates have skilled experience shipping production search or retrieval systems used by real users. Experience with relevance, search evaluation, information retrieval, agentic search, LLM-powered systems, or large-scale data infrastructure is highly relevant.
- You should be able to clearly explain technical decisions,



tradeoffs, optimization strategies, and lessons learned from real production systems. Experience with modern AI and agent-based search architectures is a strong plus.

Compensation & Process:

- $80-$150 per task
- 25-minute conversational interview
- No coding test or take-home assignment
- Candidates who advance may receive a paid 30-minute follow-up conversation ($200)
- Fully remote contract opportunity
