Job Purpose
We are looking for an experienced Purchase Manager to manage procurement activities, supplier relationships and material availability for our manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
Manage procurement of raw materials, components, consumables and services.
Source and develop suppliers based on quality, cost and delivery requirements.
Obtain quotations, evaluate commercial terms and negotiate with suppliers.
Release and monitor purchase orders.
Ensure timely availability of materials as per production requirements.
Monitor supplier performance on quality, cost and delivery.
Develop alternate sources and support cost-reduction initiatives.
Coordinate with Production, Planning, Stores, Quality and Finance.
Resolve supplier-related delivery, quality and commercial issues.
Maintain purchase records and supplier documentation.
Support improvement of procurement lead time and inventory levels.
Key Experience Required
10+ years of experience in Purchase / Procurement, preferably in manufacturing or heavy engineering.
Mandatory experience in procurement of machined components, castings and forgings.
Solid experience in vendor development and supplier management.
Positive negotiation and commercial evaluation skills.
Understanding of procurement processes and supplier performance management.
Experience with ERP systems and MS Office
Qualification
BE / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
Preferred Industry Background
Candidates from Heavy Engineering, Manufacturing, Automotive, Industrial Equipment, Capital Goods or related industries will be preferred.
