Job Description – Night Auditor

Job Summary

The Night Auditor is responsible for managing the hotel’s overnight operations, completing the daily night audit, verifying financial transactions, reconciling revenue, and ensuring accurate closure of the business day. The role also involves handling late-night guest requirements and ensuring a smooth transition to the morning team.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct the daily/night audit process and ensure accurate closure of the hotel’s financial day.
- Verify room charges, restaurant/F&B; bills, payments, discounts, refunds, and other revenue transactions.
- Reconcile cash, credit card, UPI, online travel agency and other payment transactions.
- Verify occupancy, room rates, room status and revenue postings in the PMS.
- Prepare daily revenue, occupancy and financial reports for management.
- Identify and investigate discrepancies in revenue, billing and payment records.




- Ensure all guest accounts and folios are accurate and properly settled.
- Handle late check-ins, early check-outs, guest requests and basic front-office operations during the night.
- Monitor room availability and coordinate with housekeeping and security whenever required.
- Ensure proper documentation and handover of pending issues to the morning shift.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of guest and financial information.
- Monitor hotel premises during night hours and immediately escalate any security or operational concerns.
- Support the Front Office team in maintaining high standards of guest service.

Required Skills
- Good knowledge of hotel Front Office and Night Audit procedures.
- Knowledge of PMS/hotel management software and POS systems.
- Solid numerical and reconciliation skills.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and basic financial reporting.
