Job Summary
Ergen Technovation Pvt. Ltd. is a deep-tech power electronics company developing GaN/SiC-based battery chargers and high-power-density power converters for EV, drone/UAS, industrial, solar, and AgriTech applications.
We are looking for an R&D; Engineer – Power Electronics with hands-on experience in the design, development, simulation, prototyping, testing, and validation of switched-mode power converters.
The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of power electronics, analog electronics, converter topologies, control loops, magnetics, and laboratory testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop switched-mode power converters using Flyback, Forward, Half-Bridge, and LLC topologies.
- Perform topology selection, power-stage calculations, magnetics design/specification, and component selection.
- Design and optimize control loops, feedback networks, and Type II/Type III compensation.
- Work on MOSFETs, diodes, controllers, gate drivers, snubber and clamp circuits.
- Perform schematic design and support PCB layout for power converter boards.
- Build, test, bring up, and debug power converter prototypes.
- Analyze waveforms using oscilloscopes and perform efficiency, thermal, and performance measurements.
- Perform Bode plot / loop stability measurements and troubleshoot converter issues.
- Support EMI/EMC pre-compliance testing and design improvements.
- Prepare design calculations, test reports, validation reports, and design review documents.
- Collaborate with Firmware, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Testing, and Quality teams during product development.
- Optimize designs for efficiency, cost, size, thermal performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
Required Skills & Experience
- 2–4 years of hands-on experience in power converter design and development.
- Strong practical experience with Flyback, Forward, Half-Bridge, and/or LLC converters.
- Good understanding of analog electronics, feedback systems, op-amps, comparators, and small-signal analysis.
- Strong understanding of switching power supply fundamentals.
- Knowledge of magnetics design, snubber/clamp circuits, switching behavior, and control-loop compensation.
- Experience with simulation tools such as LTspice, PSIM, PLECS, or equivalent.
- Hands-on experience with oscilloscope, electronic load, power analyzer, and frequency response analyzer.
- Knowledge of power converter controller ICs and gate-driver circuits.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Good to Have
- Experience with GaN/SiC power converter design.
- PCB schematic and layout experience using KiCad, Altium, OrCAD, or similar tools.
- Knowledge of EMI/EMC principles and pre-compliance testing.
- Experience with STM32 or similar microcontrollers for digitally controlled power converters.
- Exposure to automotive/industrial power electronics standards and compliance testing.
