Full-Stack Product Engineer – R&D; Prototype Challenge | Part time / Side Project
We are looking for one strong, hands-on engineer
to take on an interesting R&D; challenge in healthcare technology.
We have a hypothesis for a new internal technology platform. Before committing to a full-scale build, we want to
develop a working prototype, test it with real-world data, and define the future technology strategy.
This is not a conventional development assignment with a detailed specification.
We will define the business problem. You will help determine how best to solve it.
The Challenge
Starting with read-only access to our existing systems and data, you will independently build an end-to-end prototype involving:
- Data pipeline from a large existing MySQL database
- Data transformation and an appropriate storage/data layer
- A simple application with list, detail and dashboard views
- Natural-language interaction with structured data using LLMs
- OCR and structured extraction from scanned medical and claims documents
- 1–2 prediction / classification use cases
- Rules,
exceptions and actionable alerts
- APIs and a simple, usable front end
We are deliberately
not prescribing the complete technology stack or architecture
.
Choosing the right tools, architecture and trade-offs is part of the challenge.
What You Will Deliver
1. A working prototype
Something our team can actually use and evaluate on real-world data.
2. An R&D; assessment
What worked, what didn't, what you learnt from the data, and which ideas are worth taking forward.
3. Future technology strategy
If the prototype validates the opportunity, how should we build the production platform? What architecture, technology choices and implementation roadmap would you recommend?
Who We Are Looking For
This is likely to suit an experienced
Full-Stack Engineer, Product Engineer or Software Engineer
who enjoys building things from scratch.
You should have strong hands-on capability across several of the
