nWe are seeking a skilled Project Manager / Project Engineer to execute projects within a high-end architectural fabrication facility specializing in metal, glass systems, and signage. Most large-scale projects are for major General Contractors and Construction Managers (e.g., Tishman, Turner, Lend Lease).

nnThe ideal candidate must be punctual, organized, and experienced in architectural metals, glass systems, signage, construction management, or mechanical engineering. This role requires solid multitasking capabilities, as multiple projects are active simultaneously.

nnWe work on some of the largest projects in the New York metropolitan area and are looking for someone who can grow with the company and become a long-term asset.

nnKey Responsibilities

n1. Takeoff & Scheduling

nPerform quantity takeoffs from drawings

nReview scope and compare with sales orders

nIdentify discrepancies or errors

nDevelop project schedules and Gantt charts

nMaintain project tracking sheets

nn2. Shop Drawings

nCoordinate with design and engineering teams

nDevelop and revise shop drawings

nManage approval process through multiple iterations

n3. Procurement

nSolicit vendor pricing





nAssist in estimating with senior management

nExecute material purchasing

nn4. Samples

nCoordinate fabrication and delivery of required samples

nEnsure compliance with contract documents

nn5. Fabrication

nIssue work orders to production

nEnsure proper execution of manufactured products

nn6. Installation

nCoordinate with installers

nEnsure proper documentation (field reports, sign-offs)

nConfirm client acceptance of delivered work

nnRequired Skills & Qualifications

nAbility to read and interpret construction documents (plans, details, specifications)

nAbility to translate drawings into material takeoffs and fabrication instructions

nTechnical Knowledge

nMetal fabrication (aluminum, steel, stainless steel, brass)

nGlass systems and architectural assemblies

nPlastics, wood, paint systems

nScreen printing, engraving, waterjet, laser cutting

nCNC machining and LED lighting

nnSoftware Proficiency

nMicrosoft 365

nMS Excel, MS Word

nAutoCAD

nAdobe Suite

nnAdditional Requirements:

nTyping speed: 50 WPM minimum

nStrong verbal communication skills for client coordination

nTypical Project Workflow

nReview project scope with Sales and Production teams

nDevelop detailed project schedule based on milestones

nAssist with shop drawings and drafting

nCoordinate engineering (including PE-stamped drawings when required)

nSubmit drawings, samples, and prototypes for approval

nCalculate material requirements and coordinate procurement

nDirect field survey teams and coordinate with other trades

nOversee fabrication and ensure quality control

nTrack all project components using control sheets

nCoordinate installation logistics and field readiness

nAddress punch list items and closeout documentation (As-Builts, LEED, etc.)

nManage change orders and coordinate pricing/approvals
