Job Title : Network Automation Engineer

Location: Chennai

Experience: 10-15 Years

Key Responsibilities

1. Automation & Orchestration Engineering

- Develop and maintain network automation platforms using industry-standard tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Python, Cisco NSO, SaltStack, and StackStorm.
- Design and build scalable workflow engines to automate network provisioning, configuration management, compliance validation, and operational activities.
- Develop reusable automation modules, libraries, templates, and CI/CD pipelines with robust testing and validation mechanisms.
- Drive end-to-end automated network workflows across multiple network domains.

2. Data Modeling & Service Abstraction

- Create and maintain data models using YANG, JSON, YAML, and XML for network configurations, service definitions, and inventory management.
- Translate business and operational requirements into reusable logical service models and automation templates.
- Define relationships between network topology, inventory, and configuration datasets to support automation use cases.
- Maintain model-driven network automation practices.

3. Workflow Execution & Orchestration

- Design and implement multi-stage orchestration workflows for provisioning, change management, software upgrades, compliance checks, and rollback activities.
- Integrate automation platforms with enterprise systems including ITSM, CMDB, CI/CD pipelines,



Monitoring tools, and IPAM solutions.
- Implement workflow scheduling, dependency management, and distributed execution capabilities.
- Enable self-service automation capabilities for Network Operations and Engineering teams.

4. Standards, Governance & Compliance

- Establish automation development standards, coding guidelines, version control practices, and peer-review processes.
- Implement automation guardrails including pre-validation checks, simulation modes, approval workflows, and drift detection mechanisms.
- Ensure secure management of credentials, secrets, API keys, and sensitive network data.
- Maintain configuration consistency, compliance, and governance across all network domains.

Required Skills

- 10-15 years of experience in Network Engineering and Network Automation.
- Solid proficiency in Python, Ansible, Terraform, Cisco NSO, REST APIs, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with YANG data models, NETCONF/RESTCONF, JSON, YAML, and XML.
- Strong understanding of Routing, Switching, Firewalls, Load Balancers, and Enterprise Network Architecture.
- Experience integrating automation platforms with ITSM, CMDB, Monitoring, and Cloud environments.
- Knowledge of DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) methodologies.
- Expertise in automation governance, testing frameworks, and compliance controls.
