Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced E&E; Component Design Responsible Engineer (DRE) to take technical ownership of automotive electrical, electronic and mechatronic components across the complete product development lifecycle, from requirements and design through validation, release and SOP.
The role will involve working on components such as 12V Battery, Alternator/BSG, BCM, Gateway, PEPS, RF/LF and other vehicle E&E; systems, with close interaction with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Own component/system requirements, technical specifications, design inputs and engineering documentation.
- Drive component development from concept/design through validation, release and SOP.
- Coordinate with suppliers, design teams, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Quality, Testing and other CFTs.
- Define and review validation plans, test requirements and validation results.
- Track technical issues, drive root cause analysis and implement corrective/countermeasure actions.
- Support HW/SW releases, change management and project milestone tracking.
- Prepare/review DFMEA/PFMEA, technical drawings, PPAP and other design/process documents.
- Ensure component performance, reliability, quality, cost and timing targets are achieved.
- Support electrical balance, battery sizing, alternator sizing and ignition-off current calculations where applicable.
- Ensure compliance with EMI/EMC, environmental, mechanical and vehicle electrical/electronic architecture requirements.
- Conduct design reviews and coordinate resolution of critical/hard points with CFTs and suppliers.
- Support continuous improvement, benchmarking and development of robust technical solutions.
- Prepare technical reports and communicate project status, risks and key issues to management and global stakeholders.
Required Skills
- Strong experience in Automotive E&E; / Component Engineering / DRE.
- Experience with 12V Battery, Alternator/BSG, BCM, Gateway, PEPS, RF/LF or related automotive components.
- Good understanding of vehicle electrical/electronic architecture.
- Knowledge of CAN, LIN and RF communication protocols.
- Knowledge of EMI/EMC, DFMEA/PFMEA, validation and PPAP.
- Experience in supplier and cross-functional team management.
- Experience with automotive product development lifecycle up to SOP.
- Knowledge of CANalyzer/CANoe is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to work with global teams and international suppliers.
- Valuable proficiency in MS Office and professional English communication.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- 3+ years of relevant automotive engineering experience.
- Experience working directly with OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers or automotive product development teams.
- Hands-on experience in component development, validation and issue resolution.
- Ability to independently drive technical topics while coordinating multiple CFTs and suppliers.
