Key Responsibilities
- Perform rack and stack activities for hardware devices as per approved layout and design within the data center.
- Carry out copper and fiber cable laying, patching, and dressing according to standard build procedures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, link, and connectivity issues within defined SLA timelines.
- Coordinate with COLO, clients, and a leading telecom company teams to ensure efficient issue resolution and incident management.
- Conduct site audits and surveys to verify infrastructure readiness and compliance with operational standards.
- Manage asset inventory and ensure timely updates and reporting in the ticketing system.
- Provide remote support to on-site engineers and assist in managing service desk operations.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and operational guidelines during all build and maintenance activities.

- The Data Center Support Engineer plays a crucial role in the Telecom sector, specifically supporting operations within a leading telecom company-hosted data centers in Ahmedabad and Jaipur.
- This position is pivotal in maintaining the physical infrastructure of the data centers, ensuring performance and reliability through both operational and build activities.
- Engineers are expected to work on-site, providing hands-on support for hardware and connectivity issues to meet defined SLA timelines.
- They coordinate with customers, vendors, and internal teams to resolve incidents efficiently.
- This role requires a blend of technical expertise and strong communication skills to manage and enhance data center operations.
- As a Level 3 engineer, the individual is expected to bring 3-6 years of experience in data center environments.
- The position demands flexibility, including working in shifts and during non-standard hours, to support on-demand and rotational shift requirements.
- The engineer will be responsible for a wide range of activities from rack installation and cable management to troubleshooting and coordinating with vendors for issue resolution.
- The role also involves ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards while managing assets and inventory effectively.
- This position is not eligible for work-from-home and requires physical presence at the customer data center locations, with occasional visits to a leading telecom company offices for meetings and training sessions.
- The engineer must exhibit strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure, managing multiple priorities effectively.
- The role is fundamental to supporting the META program, ensuring the seamless operation of data center services across the region.
- The engineer's responsibilities extend to maintaining site safety, performing audits, and managing site spare inventory.
- They are also expected to support remote troubleshooting and service desk operations, leveraging their technical expertise in data center operations and IT infrastructure.
- The role is designed for proactive individuals who can manage and maintain physical infrastructure while fostering strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure service excellence.
Requirements
- Proven experience in data center operations and IT infrastructure management, specifically within the Telecom sector.
- Strong technical expertise in handling servers, switches, routers, cabling systems, and fiber optics.
- Demonstrated ability to work in shifts and during non-standard hours to meet operational needs.
- Experience in managing and maintaining physical infrastructure, including installation and decommissioning of hardware.
- Proficiency in using ticketing systems to manage incidents, service requests, and ensure SLA compliance.
- Robust communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Knowledgeable in IT Service Management (ITSM) processes, including SLA adherence and escalation management.
