1- Purpose of the Role (Job Summary)

Price the electrical scope of data center bids — the power chain from utility intake to rack PDU — including critical equipment, cabling and containment, and vendor quote analysis.

2- Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

- Take off and price MV/LV switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS and batteries, PDUs, busway, cabling, containment, earthing and lightning protection, and lighting.
- Obtain and normalize OEM budget quotes for gensets, UPS, switchgear, and busway, including delivery and escalation terms.
- Price EPMS interfaces and electrical commissioning support (relay testing, load-bank support).
- Build cable and containment schedules from SLDs and layouts using installation productivity norms.
- Prepare comparative statements for electrical subcontract packages.
- Flag topology ambiguities (N+1/2N, catcher systems), scope gaps, and specification conflicts for clarification.
- Support value engineering with cost deltas (busway vs cable, battery technologies, genset sizing).
- Update the electrical cost database with awarded rates and norms.

3- Key Performance Indicators





- Estimate accuracy within ±5% of final cost on electrical lines.
- On-time delivery per bid plan; at least 2 OEM quotes per critical equipment class.
- No unlogged assumptions or exclusions.
- Database updated within 30 days of award or closeout.

4- Qualifications & Certifications

- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (mandatory).
- Familiarity with IS/IEC standards for MV and LV systems; CDCP or CDCS is an advantage.

5- Experience

- 7–10 years in electrical estimation for EPC, industrial, or commercial projects.
- Data center or mission-critical power exposure strongly preferred.
- Direct OEM quote handling for critical power equipment.

6- Competencies

- Reads SLDs and layouts fluently and prices redundancy correctly.
- Robust take-off and rate-analysis discipline.
- Advanced Excel and estimating tools.
- Clear documentation of assumptions and exclusions.

Technical Skills

Electrical systems estimation, BOQ preparation, rate analysis, cable and containment schedules, and estimation tools.

Key Interfaces

- Internal: MEP Estimation Manager, Electrical Lead (design), SCM, proposal team.
- External: Electrical OEMs (genset, UPS, switchgear, busway) and electrical subcontractors.

Special Conditions Close coordination with protection and T&C; teams; bid cycle intensity.
