IIMaspirant.in is an emerging EdTech platform focused on helping students prepare for competitive management entrance examinations, including CAT and IPMAT .
We are currently developing our next-generation Learning Management System (LMS) to create a structured digital learning environment for aspirants.
The platform is being built across multiple layers — including learning experiences, student dashboards, assessments, mock tests, payments, user management and other technology-driven learning systems.
We are now looking for a Backend Web Developer Intern to contribute to the backend architecture and help connect our frontend applications with reliable, scalable backend services.
? About the Role
As a Backend Web Developer Intern , you will work closely with our product and frontend development teams to build and integrate the backend systems powering our LMS.
This is a hands-on, project-based internship where you will work on actual product requirements, APIs, databases, integrations and backend workflows.
One of the key projects during the internship will be the PayU payment gateway integration , along with backend systems required to support the LMS and other platform functionalities.
You will have the opportunity to work across the complete flow:
- Develop, maintain and improve backend APIs for the IIMaspirant.in LMS.
- Build RESTful APIs for frontend applications.
- Connect frontend components with backend services.
- Design and implement database structures required by the platform.
- Develop server-side business logic and validation.
- Implement authentication and authorization where required.
- Handle API errors, validation and backend exceptions.
- Write clean, modular and maintainable backend code.
? Payment Gateway Integration A major component of this internship will involve working on the PayU payment infrastructure , including:
- Payment initiation workflows.
- Server-side payment processing.
- Transaction and order management.
- Payment success and failure handling.
- Callback and webhook implementation.
- Payment-status verification.
- Server-side hash generation/validation.
- Database synchronization of payment transactions.
- Handling duplicate or repeated payment events.
- Automated access activation following successful payments.
- Payment-related debugging and testing.
? LMS & Platform Development You may also contribute to backend modules supporting:
- User registration and authentication.
- Student profiles.
- Course and learning-content management.
- Enrolment and access management.
- Mock tests and assessments.
- Test results and performance data.
- Dashboard APIs.
- Subscription/payment-related workflows.
- Notifications and communication systems.
- Admin and internal management APIs.
- Other backend services required by the LMS.
? Collaboration You will work alongside our frontend development and product teams to ensure smooth communication between the user interface and backend infrastructure.
Your responsibilities will include
- Understanding frontend requirements.
- Translating product requirements into backend functionality.
- Designing appropriate API contracts.
- Integrating APIs with frontend applications.
- Testing complete frontend-to-backend workflows.
- Debugging integration issues.
- Documenting APIs and backend functionality.
- Participating in technical discussions and development reviews.

- MongoDB
- Firebase
- Other relational or NoSQL databases

Prior PayU experience is not mandatory. What matters most is your ability to understand API documentation, solve problems independently and build reliable backend systems.
