Product Information Management (PIM) & AI Data Analyst -
About the Role:
We are looking for a high-potential Product Information Management (PIM) & AI Data Analyst to help build a scalable,
high-quality product data capability for a large distribution business. The role sits at the intersection of product information,
data analysis, process design and AI-enabled research.
This is not a data-entry or traditional catalogue administration role. The successful candidate will work with large and
imperfect datasets, determine how information should be structured and standardized, identify patterns and exceptions,
and build repeatable rules that improve the quality and scalability of product information.
Prior automotive or industry-specific product knowledge is not required. The domain can be taught. We are primarily
looking for someone who can think analytically, learn quickly, work confidently with data, and use modern AI applications
as part of their day-to-day problem solving.
What You Will Do:
Structure, clean, standardize and enrich product information received from multiple internal and external sources.
Help build and maintain product hierarchies, categories, attributes, naming conventions and data-quality rules.
Compare datasets from different suppliers or systems and determine where records are equivalent, inconsistent,
incomplete or require further investigation.
Translate unstructured or inconsistent product information into structured, PIM-ready datasets.
Develop repeatable rules for classification, matching, enrichment and validation rather than relying on one-off manual
fixes.
Create exception-based workflows so human effort is focused on ambiguous or high-value records instead of
reviewing every record manually.
Work with Product, Commercial, E-commerce and Data teams to understand how product information is used and
what data quality is required.
Document logic, business rules and data standards clearly so that they can be reused and scaled.
AI-Enabled Research & Analysis
A central part of this role is the practical use of modern AI tools. We are looking for someone who is already comfortable
experimenting with AI, or has the aptitude to become a highly effective AI user quickly.
Use applications such as ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini or similar tools to accelerate research and
analysis.
Use AI to interpret unstructured descriptions, technical documents, spreadsheets and other product information.
Design and refine prompts that help classify records, compare information, identify patterns, suggest rules and
surface anomalies.
Use AI to assist with Excel formulas, SQL queries, Python scripts or data-transformation logic where appropriate.
Develop AI-assisted workflows that reduce repetitive manual research and improve processing speed.
Critically validate AI-generated outputs against reliable sources and underlying data before they are accepted.
Identify where AI can automate a task, where deterministic rules are more appropriate, and where human judgement
is still required.
Data Analysis & Problem Solving
Work comfortably with datasets containing thousands to hundreds of thousands of records.
Use Excel to filter, compare, reconcile, transform and analyse large product datasets.
Identify duplicates, near-duplicates, missing attributes, inconsistent terminology and data-quality issues.
Analyse how information from different sources maps to a common structure.
Product Information Management (PIM) & AI Data Analyst | New Delhi, India
JOB DESCRIPTION
Create simple metrics and exception reports to measure completeness, consistency and data quality.
Break ambiguous problems into clear decision rules and test those rules across larger datasets.
Investigate unexpected results rather than simply processing records as provided.
PIM, Taxonomy & Product Data
Support the design and maintenance of product category hierarchies and taxonomies.
Define which attributes are required for different categories and how those attributes should be represented.
Help determine which data should be mandatory, optional, customer-facing, searchable or used internally.
Create consistent product naming and description standards.
Support data migration, supplier onboarding and product-data enrichment activities.
Help ensure that product data is usable across PIM, e-commerce, analytics and commercial applications.
Skills We Are Looking For:
ESSENTIAL: Strong analytical and structured problem-solving
PREFERRED: SQL, Python, Power Query or similar data
ability
ESSENTIAL:
Advanced Excel skills or the ability to reach that
level quickly
ESSENTIAL: Comfort working with large and imperfect
datasets
tooling
experience
enrichment
PREFERRED: PIM, master data, catalogue or product-data
PREFERRED: Experience with taxonomy, classification or data
ESSENTIAL: Solid attention to detail and an instinct for
finding inconsistencies
ESSENTIAL: Comfort using modern generative-AI applications
ESSENTIAL: Ability to learn unfamiliar domains quickly
PREFERRED: Experience with e-commerce or supplier
datasets
BONUS: Automotive or distribution-industry knowledge
BONUS: Experience designing AI-assisted data workflows
The Profile That Will Succeed
We are more interested in how you think than whether you already know a particular product category. A strong candidate
may come from product data, analytics, e-commerce, operations, consulting, engineering, research or another data-
intensive environment.
You should be comfortable receiving an ambiguous problem such as: "Here are 20,000 records from multiple sources.
Work out how they should be grouped, which attributes matter, where the data conflicts, and how we can make the
process repeatable."
The mindset we value is: understand the problem -> identify the underlying rule -> test it on the data -> automate what can
be automated -> isolate exceptions -> document the logic.
What Success Looks Like
Independently take ownership of datasets or product categories after an initial learning period.
Turn messy source information into reliable, structured and usable product data.
Build rules and workflows that materially reduce manual effort.
Use AI as a genuine productivity and research tool while maintaining strong validation standards.
Communicate clearly with both business and technical stakeholders.
Create documentation that allows processes and decisions to be repeated consistently.
Help move the product-data operating model toward a more data-driven, rules-based and AI-enabled way of working.
Why This Role Is Different:
This is an opportunity to work on a practical product-data transformation rather than simply administer an existing system.
The role combines analytical problem solving, product information management, AI-enabled research and process
automation. The individual will have the opportunity to shape how product information is structured, governed and scaled
across the business.
Pay: ₹100,000.00 - ₹120,000.00 per month
Work Location: Remote
