This is a full-time role for a Mechanical Designer in the Mumbai office, who will be responsible for designing & planning HVAC, Fire Fighting & Plumbing systems, creating layouts, schematics, construction documentation drawings, and coordinating with other design disciplines and producing functional reports for multiple prestigious Commercial, Retail, F&B; projects across the globe.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for planning, coordinating, and designing mechanical engineering systems for Commercial, Retail, F&B; projects.
- Execute day-to-day tasks related to HVAC, Fire Fighting and Plumbing design for the assigned projects.
- Responsible for the development of 2D drawings & 3D models of various HVAC, Fire Fighting and Plumbing systems as required for the assigned project including but not limited to Technical Due Diligence, Design Basis Report, HLC, HVAC, Fire Fighting & Plumbing Layout with High Side and Low Side Designs, using AutoCAD, REVIT and other relevant software.
- Ability to work on AutoCAD, ACC,
BIM 360 & maintain BIM standards and library of BIM objects.
- Collaborate and coordinate with Architectural Design, MEP team and other stakeholders to develop a clash-free system design.
- Self-Review plans and specifications for technical accuracy, code compliance, and constructability.
- Develops solutions to technical and design problems following established global standards.
- Coordinate with Architectural Professionals on projects to assure continuity and consistency of documentation including organization, coordination, thoroughness, and accuracy of all documents in the drawing set.
- Work closely with the team and assist in the completion of projects on aggressive schedules.
Skills & Expertise:
- Strong knowledge in Mechanical Design and Engineering.
- Ability to analyze and understand complex mechanical systems and components.
- Knowledge of building codes and ability to research and apply/incorporate into technical documents.
- Demonstrates proficient skills in AutoCAD / Revit, with an advanced level of expertise.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to effectively meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Take initiative and move forward on assigned tasks confidently while working independently and competently.
Education & Experience:
- 4 - Years of bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or other equivalent education is a must.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of HVAC design, production, and technical experience through all phases of design and construction documentation process.
- Prior experience with global Retail, F&B; projects is preferred and beneficial.
