Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced UiPath Developer with 4–7 years of hands-on experience in RPA development, debugging, production support and automation maintenance. The role will primarily support Japanese business processes and automation environments, where virtual machines, applications, user interfaces, error messages and automation components are largely in Japanese. Japanese language understanding is therefore an important requirement to effectively develop, troubleshoot, analyze application issues and communicate with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain automation solutions using UiPath.

- Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable and maintainable RPA solutions.

- Troubleshoot and debug UiPath workflows, production failures and application-level issues.

- Analyze Japanese application screens, error messages, system notifications and logs to identify root causes.

- Support production automation issues and perform timely incident resolution.

- Investigate application, VM, credential, connectivity, selector and workflow-related failures.

- Develop robust automations using appropriate exception handling, retry mechanisms and logging.

- Work with UiPath Orchestrator for deployment, monitoring, job execution, queues, assets and troubleshooting.

- Perform enhancements and change requests for existing production automations.

- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards.

- Prepare and maintain technical and operational documentation.

- Coordinate with business users, infrastructure teams, application teams and technical stakeholders.

- Support automation migrations between environments/VMs and validate automations after migration.

- Participate in incident, problem and change management activities.

- Identify opportunities to improve automation stability, performance and maintainability.

Mandatory Technical Skills

UiPath

- 4–7 years of hands-on UiPath development experience.

- Strong experience with UiPath Studio and UiPath Orchestrator.

- Experience developing attended and unattended automations.

- Strong understanding of workflows, activities, variables, arguments and data manipulation.

- Strong understanding of selectors and dynamic selectors.

- Experience with DataTables, collections, Excel automation and file/folder operations.

- Experience with queues, assets and credentials.

- Strong exception handling, retry mechanisms, logging and troubleshooting skills.

- Experience with REFramework and its implementation/customization.

- Ability to develop reusable, modular and maintainable workflows.

- Robust hands-on experience debugging UiPath workflows and identifying root causes of production failures.

Programming / Technical Knowledge

- Good understanding of VB.NET expressions and syntax used within UiPath.

- Good understanding of regular expressions and data manipulation.

- Basic understanding of REST APIs and JSON/XML is desirable.

- Good understanding of Windows desktop/application environments.

- Ability to troubleshoot application, browser, file-system and connectivity-related issues.

- Understanding of source/version control such as Git / Azure DevOps is desirable.

Application Automation Experience

- Experience automating enterprise applications such as SAP, Microsoft Excel/Outlook/Office, web and Windows applications.

- Experience with SharePoint / OneDrive, Box or similar document management platforms is preferred.

- Experience with database-driven applications is preferred.

- SAP automation experience is an added advantage.

Japanese Language Requirement

Japanese language capability is strongly preferred/required for this role. The candidate should be able to understand Japanese application screens and menus, read and interpret Japanese error messages and system notifications, understand Japanese labels and business terminology, troubleshoot automations running on Japanese-language Windows/VM environments, and understand Japanese technical/business documentation.

JLPT N2 or above is preferred, with N1 being highly desirable. Candidates with strong practical Japanese IT/business communication skills will be preferred over candidates with only basic conversational Japanese knowledge.

Production Support & Debugging

- Analyze failed UiPath jobs and Orchestrator execution history/logs.

- Debug workflows and identify failed activities and root causes.

- Troubleshoot selectors and application changes.

- Investigate VM/environment, credential, authentication, network and file-access issues.

- Perform root-cause analysis and implement permanent fixes.

- Experience with automation migration between VMs/environments.

Ideal Candidate Profile

- 4–7 years of overall RPA experience with strong hands-on UiPath development.

- Can independently develop, debug and support UiPath automations.

- Has real-world production support experience, not just development/project experience.

- Can troubleshoot issues across UiPath, applications and Windows/VM environments.
