Destinare Services is looking for an experienced Chemical Process Simulation Engineer for a remote part-time contract opportunity with a global client.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in first-principles chemical process simulation, process flowsheet modeling and process optimization.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and analyze chemical process simulation models.
- Perform first-principles process flowsheet modeling.
- Work on process optimization, thermodynamics, reaction engineering and process analysis.
- Develop and validate models for reactors, separation processes and energy systems.
- Troubleshoot simulation models and validate results using engineering fundamentals.
- Automate simulation and engineering workflows using Python.

Must-Have Requirements

- 5+ years of hands-on experience in chemical/process simulation
- PhD in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or related field
- Strong experience with first-principles process modeling
- Hands-on experience with at least one major process simulation platform such as:
- Aspen Plus
- Aspen HYSYS
- gPROMS
- DWSIM
- Strong knowledge of:
- Thermodynamics
- Mass & Energy Balance
- Reaction Engineering
- Process Optimization
- Heat Transfer
- Transport Phenomena

Preferred Skills

- Experience with additional simulation tools such as DWSIM, Cantera or CoolProp
- Distillation and separation processes
- Reactor design and kinetics
- Heat integration / Pinch Analysis

- Model validation and convergence troubleshooting

Important

We are particularly interested in expert simulation practitioners who have experience building and solving complex, non-trivial process models.

Candidates with only academic coursework or basic exposure to Aspen/software are not the target profile.

Contract Details

- Remote – India
- Part-time: 20 hours/week
- Mandatory overlap: 7:00 PM – 11:00 PM IST
- Initial contract: 3 months
- Extension based on performance and project requirements
- Opportunity for full-time conversion
- Compensation: Approximately ₹6 LPA for the part-time engagement (use only if this is the approved amount)
