Desertcart is an creative cross-border eCommerce platform connecting global consumers with unique international products. As we continue to expand our global operations, we are seeking an experienced and strategic Tax Manager to lead the Group's tax compliance and governance function.
The role will be responsible for ensuring robust tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions, managing relationships with tax authorities and external auditors, and providing strategic tax support to enable the Group's continued growth.
Role Description
Based in India and reporting to the Senior Finance Controller, the Tax Manager will oversee the Group's tax compliance obligations across India, UAE, US, UK, and other operating jurisdictions.
The role will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate tax filings, strengthening tax governance and reporting processes, managing tax authority and auditor relationships, and providing technical tax guidance to the Finance Team and wider business.




The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the Group's multi-jurisdictional tax environment, ensuring regulatory compliance, mitigating tax risks, and supporting continuous improvement in tax processes and controls.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the preparation and timely submission of direct and indirect tax returns, including income tax, employee taxes, sales tax, VAT, and other applicable taxes.
Manage relationships and coordinate effectively with external auditors, tax advisors, and tax authorities.
Oversee ESOP-related tax and regulatory compliances.
Analyse complex business structures, related-party transactions, intercompany arrangements, and transfer pricing requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
Manage tax and regulatory requirements relating to transactions with overseas group entities, including fund repatriation and cross-border payments.
Ensure compliance with applicable Income Tax, GST, FDI, FEMA, BEPS, OECD, VAT, and other relevant regulations
