Overview:
Auroville Electrical Service (AVES) operates and maintains Auroville’s electrical infrastructure, which includes the Auroville Smart Mini Grid. The Auroville Smart Mini Grid integrates distributed energy resources—including rooftop solar, battery storage and energy management systems—to support a more reliable, efficient and renewable electricity system.

The Manager, Auroville Smart Mini Grid will be responsible for the reliable and efficient operation of Auroville’s distributed energy assets, including rooftop solar PV, battery energy storage and associated monitoring systems.

Roles and Responsibilities
The Manager, Auroville Smart Mini Grid will be responsible for Smart Mini Grid system performance in accordance with performance targets set for each year.

To perform this key responsibility, the Manager, Auroville Smart Mini Grid will need to plan and execute tasks that include, but may not be limited to the following:

Oversee operation and performance of a fleet of solar, battery storage and related systems at the Auroville township.
Monitor performance,



identify issues and coordinate corrective action.
Plan and manage preventive and proactive maintenance.
Coordinate with project teams, contractors, suppliers and service providers during installation, commissioning, handover and maintenance.
Maintain asset, operation, maintenance, warranty and performance records.
Prepare regular operational and performance reports.
Prepare plans for system upgrades, asset replacement and future expansion.
Ensure safety and operational procedures are followed.

Qualifications and Experience
Engineering background, preferably in electrical, energy, mechanical or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience.
Experience in solar PV, battery storage, electrical systems, engineering operations or O&M; is preferred.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
