Freelance Social Media Specialist – Instagram

About the Role

We are looking for a creative, proactive Freelance Social Media Specialist to build and enhance our Instagram presence.

The goal is not just to post content, but to make our Instagram account more engaging, premium, consistent, and commercially valuable.

You will be responsible for understanding the brand, identifying what content works, creating a content strategy, and continuously improving our Instagram presence based on performance.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and execute a monthly Instagram content strategy and calendar.
- Create ideas for Reels, carousels, stories, static posts and other Instagram formats.
- Identify trending content formats, hooks, sounds, trends and relevant opportunities.
- Write engaging captions, hooks and CTAs.
- Convert raw product/business content into engaging Instagram content.
- Maintain a consistent brand identity, tone and visual quality.
- Research competitors and successful brands for content inspiration.
- Track Instagram performance and identify what content is working and what is not.
- Continuously experiment with new content formats and ideas.
- Improve reach, engagement, followers and overall brand visibility.
- Suggest campaigns, collaborations and other organic growth opportunities.
- Prepare a simple monthly performance report with learnings and next actions.

- Strong understanding of Instagram and Reels.




- Positive understanding of what makes content interesting, shareable and engaging.
- Strong creative thinking and ability to generate fresh content ideas.
- Ability to understand a brand and translate its personality into content.
- Good knowledge of current Instagram trends.
- Basic understanding of Instagram analytics and performance metrics.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- AI tools / Canva / CapCut / ChatGPT knowledge will be an advantage.

We are not looking for someone who simply designs posts and uploads them.

We are looking for someone who can think:

“What should we create, why will people watch it, and how can we make the next piece of content better?”

You should be comfortable experimenting, analyzing results and continuously improving the content strategy.

Deliverables

The freelancer will be expected to provide:

- Monthly content calendar
- Weekly content ideas
- Reels/content concepts
- Captions and hooks
- Stories/content ideas
- Trend research
- Monthly performance analysis
- Recommendations for improving Instagram growth

Experience

1–3+ years of relevant social media experience preferred.

Experience with D2C, jewellery, lifestyle, fashion, plants, home décor or consumer brands will be an advantage.

Engagement

Freelance / Part-time

Expected involvement: approximately 10–15 hours per week, depending on capability.
