About the Role

We are looking for a fresher / entry-level Executive – Lab Assistant (R&D;) to join the Research & Development team of a cosmetics and personal-care manufacturing organization in Gurgaon.

The candidate will support the R&D;/Formulation team in laboratory activities, sample preparation, testing, documentation, raw-material handling and development of cosmetic/personal-care products. This is a suitable prospect for candidates who are interested in building a career in cosmetic formulation, laboratory operations and product development.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist R&D;/Formulation team in preparation of laboratory batches and product samples.

- Support preparation, weighing and dispensing of raw materials as per approved formulations.

- Conduct basic laboratory tests and record observations accurately.

- Assist in preparation of creams, lotions, gels, shampoos, face-care and other personal-care formulations as required.

- Maintain proper laboratory records, test reports, batch sheets and sample documentation.

- Assist in physical and basic chemical evaluation of raw materials and finished products.

- Check product parameters such as appearance, colour, odour, pH, viscosity and consistency under supervision.

- Maintain proper identification and labeling of laboratory samples.

- Ensure proper handling, storage and housekeeping of laboratory chemicals and raw materials.

- Clean and maintain laboratory glassware,



instruments and work areas.

- Support R&D; trials, stability studies and product comparison activities.

- Assist in preparation of trial batches and documentation for scale-up activities.

- Coordinate with Production and Quality teams whenever required for R&D; trials and samples.

- Follow laboratory safety procedures, hygiene requirements and company SOPs.

- Maintain confidentiality of formulations, product specifications and R&D-related; information.

- Support other laboratory and R&D; activities assigned by the R&D; Manager/Senior.

Educational Qualification

Preferred Qualifications:

- B.Sc. – Chemistry

- B.Sc. – Industrial Chemistry

- B.Sc. – Biotechnology

- B.Pharm / M.Pharm

- M.Sc. – Chemistry / related specialization

- Diploma/Degree in Cosmetic Science or related field

Desired Skills

- Basic knowledge of chemistry and laboratory practices.

- Basic understanding of cosmetic/personal-care formulations will be an advantage.

- Good knowledge of laboratory equipment and glassware.

- Good observation and analytical skills.

- Basic knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word.

- Good documentation and record-keeping ability.

- Willingness to learn formulation and product-development processes.

- Good communication and interpersonal skills.





- Ability to work effectively as part of an R&D; team.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred Candidate Profile

- Experience: Fresher / 0–1 year.

- Candidates from Cosmetics, Personal Care, FMCG, Pharmaceutical, Chemical or related academic backgrounds may be considered.

- Candidates with internship/project exposure in cosmetic formulation, chemistry laboratory, pharmaceutical laboratory or product development will have an added advantage.

- Candidate should be comfortable working in a laboratory/manufacturing environment.

- Gurgaon or nearby candidates would be preferred.
