About Humanising Design
At Humanising Design, we turn ideas into real, scalable products.
Our work spans toys, consumer products, fitness equipment, healthcare innovations, defence systems and other complex industries. We combine product strategy, user research, industrial design, engineering, prototyping and manufacturing enablement to take products from early concepts through to production.
This internship offers hands-on experience solving real-world design challenges and contributing to products that are prototyped, tested and manufactured.

The Role

We’re looking for a Graphic Design Intern who can think creatively while understanding the purpose of why the products are made and are able to effectively communicate the same.
You’ll work closely with our design team, applying strong illustration, visual storytelling, branding, typography, layout and information-design skills. The role requires the ability to translate ideas into transparent, engaging visuals, maintain consistency across different formats, and design thoughtfully for the end user. Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign is preferred.

What You’ll Do

Complete assigned design deliverables within the timelines and hours allocated to each task
Create storyboard illustrations, flashcards, packaging, toy instructions and other supporting graphic assets as required
Follow the provided briefs, visual references, brand guidelines and project requirements accurately
Share regular progress updates and work-in-progress files throughout each task




Communicate clearly and promptly regarding progress, questions, delays or challenges
Present initial design directions within the specified timeline before proceeding to final execution
Incorporate feedback and complete revisions within the timelines communicated
Ensure every task is taken through to completion, including corrections, refinements and final formatting
Maintain visual consistency across illustrations, layouts, typography, colours and brand applications
Prepare organised, editable working files and production-ready final files in the required formats
Pay close attention to dimensions, print specifications, image quality, spelling and alignment
Coordinate closely with the design team and seek clarification early when requirements are unclear
Manage multiple deliverables responsibly and prioritise tasks according to agreed deadlines
Flag any anticipated delay in advance, along with the work completed and the additional time required
Take ownership of assigned tasks from briefing through feedback, revision and final delivery

You’re a Good Fit If You

Have strong graphic-design fundamentals, with a clear understanding of composition, typography, colour and visual hierarchy
Are proficient in relevant design software, including Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
Demonstrate creativity and originality in developing visual concepts and design directions




Have strong illustration and visual-storytelling abilities
Can translate briefs and ideas into clear, engaging and well-resolved visual outcomes
Have excellent attention to detail across layouts, typography, colours, alignment and final execution
Can maintain brand and visual consistency across different formats and applications
Can manage multiple tasks and complete deliverables within allocated timelines
Communicate progress, questions and potential delays clearly and proactively
Are organised in maintaining editable working files, versions and final deliverables
Can interpret feedback constructively and complete revisions within the communicated timeframe
Are comfortable collaborating with designers and other project stakeholders
Take ownership of assigned tasks from the initial brief through revisions to final delivery

Software Skills

Proficiency in one or more of the following is required:
Adobe Illustrator
Adobe Photoshop
Adobe InDesign
Procreate
Figma
Other relevant illustration, graphic-design or layout software

Bonus Skills

Basic animation or motion-graphics skills
Familiarity with Adobe After Effects, Adobe Animate or similar animation software
These skills are preferred but not mandatory.

Requirements

Strong portfolio demonstrating physical product-design projects
Portfolio must include evidence of illustration, brand identity, communication and visual design
Available for a full-time, remote internship in India

Stipend

Undergraduates or below: ₹8,000/month
Master’s students or graduates: ₹10,000/month
