Purpose of the Role
This is a genuinely field-first role you're not sitting behind a desk waiting for suppliers to come to you. You're out identifying farmers, traders, and collection agents, building relationships in the market, and negotiating rates that hold up under company guidelines. If you enjoy travel, like talking to people, and want to see the direct link between the deal you close in the field and what shows up at the plant, this role gives you that.
What You'll Own
Identify, onboard, and manage suppliers in sericulture.
Conduct regular field visits to track supply availability, quality, and pricing trends firsthand
Negotiate purchase rates within company guidelines and close sourcing deals
Coordinate with internal teams on dispatch planning, inward material checks, and issue resolution
Maintain supplier databases, visit reports, and procurement MIS using basic digital tools
Track local market trends and give timely updates on price movement, supply conditions, and competitor activity
Who We're Looking For
Candidate Profile
Education:
Any graduate or diploma, with Agriculture, Agri-Business, Dairy, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred the degree matters less than a genuine grounding in how agri-commodities move from farm to buyer
UG: B.Sc in Agriculture or Dairy Technology, or B.B.A./B.M.S. in Supply Chain Management
PG: M.S./M.Sc. in Agriculture or Dairy Technology — an advantage, not a requirement, if backed by real field exposure
Experience: 1–6 years in procurement, sourcing, agri-trading, rural operations, field sales, or supply chain roles — we're open to a wide experience band because what matters most is comfort with the field, not years on paper
Candidates on the lower end of the experience range should show real, hands-on exposure to farmer or trader-facing work, even if informal or part of a larger team
Candidates on the higher end should be able to speak concretely about supplier relationships they've personal
