Role Purpose

The Quality Head will lead the end-to-end Quality function for Tata AutoComp's Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) business, ensuring the highest standards of product quality, reliability, safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction across design, supplier development, manufacturing, project execution, installation, and field operations. The role will drive the quality strategy for BESS products and solutions while establishing world-class quality systems, robust supplier quality processes, and a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Accountabilities

Quality Strategy & Governance
Develop and deploy the BESS Quality Strategy aligned with business goals and customer expectations.
Establish a robust Quality Management System (QMS) across the BESS value chain.
Drive a "Zero Defect" culture through preventive quality methodologies and operational excellence.
Define and monitor quality KPIs, governance reviews, and improvement roadmaps.




Lead management reviews and ensure organizational adherence to quality standards.

Product Quality & Reliability
Ensure product quality throughout design, validation, manufacturing, commissioning, and field operation.
Drive Product Quality Planning and Reliability Engineering for BESS products.
Establish reliability monitoring systems for:
Battery Packs
Battery Management Systems (BMS)
Energy Management Systems (EMS)
Power Conversion Systems (PCS)
Containers & Thermal Management Systems
Lead failure analysis, root cause investigations, and corrective action implementation.
Monitor field performance, warranty trends, and customer claims.

Manufacturing Quality
Develop quality control processes for incoming, in-process, and final inspections.
Ensure deployment of:
APQP
PPAP
FMEA
Control Plans
SPC
MSA
Layered Process Audits
Improve manufacturing cap
