Psychiatric Social Worker (MSW)Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Psychiatric Social Worker (MSW) to provide comprehensive psychosocial support to patients and their families. The role involves individual and family counselling, group therapy, patient assessments, skill-development training, clinical documentation, and coordination with the multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities
Conduct patient history taking and Mental Status Examinations (MSE).
Provide individual, family, and group counselling sessions.
Ensure appropriate patient care and psychosocial support.
Conduct relevant psychological and social assessments.
Organize and facilitate training programs focused on skill development.
Coordinate effectively with psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
Monitor patient progress and communicate relevant updates to senior authorities.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical records, reports, and other documentation.




Support patients and families in understanding and managing mental-health-related concerns.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Solid critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Basic computer proficiency and documentation skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Fluency in Tamil is mandatory.
Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of other regional languages will be an added advantage.

Qualification
Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW), preferably with specialization or relevant experience in Medical and Psychiatric Social Work.
