Job Summary

The X-Ray Technician is responsible for performing diagnostic radiographic procedures safely and accurately, ensuring proper patient preparation and positioning, maintaining image quality, following radiation-safety protocols, and supporting the smooth functioning of the radiology services.

Key Responsibilities
Perform X-ray and radiographic examinations as prescribed by the doctor.
Verify patient identity, clinical details, and investigation requests before the procedure.
Explain the procedure clearly to patients and provide appropriate reassurance and assistance.
Position patients correctly to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
Operate X-ray equipment safely and efficiently according to approved protocols.
Follow all radiation protection and safety guidelines for patients, staff, and self.




Ensure appropriate use of radiation-protection equipment such as lead aprons and shields.
Review images for positioning and technical quality and repeat images only when clinically necessary.
Maintain patient records, imaging registers, exposure records, and other required documentation.
Maintain confidentiality of patient information and follow clinic policies.
Keep the X-ray room, equipment, and work area clean, organized, and ready for use.
Perform routine equipment checks and promptly report equipment faults or maintenance requirements.
Coordinate with doctors, radiologists, nurses, reception, billing, and other clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow.
Ensure timely completion and proper documentation of investigations.
Follow infection-control practices and maintain a secure clinical setting.
Assist with other radiology-related procedures or duties as assigned by the doctor
