A Senior Accountant is responsible for managing accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy, and supporting business decision-making. Typical responsibilities include:
Core Responsibilities
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Manage the general ledger and ensure accurate accounting records.
Reconcile bank accounts, customer accounts, vendor accounts, and balance sheet accounts.
Oversee accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR).
Process and review journal entries and accruals.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards (IFRS, GAAP, or local regulations).

Financial Reporting
Prepare management reports and financial analysis.
Assist with budgeting and forecasting.
Monitor cash flow and financial performance.
Analyze financial variances and recommend improvements.

Tax & Compliance
Prepare and review GST/VAT, TDS, corporate tax, and other statutory filings (as applicable).
Ensure compliance with government regulations and internal policies.
Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits.





Internal Controls
Develop and maintain internal financial controls.
Identify financial risks and recommend corrective actions.
Ensure proper documentation and record keeping.

Team Management
Supervise junior accountants and accounting staff.
Review their work for accuracy and completeness.
Provide training and guidance.

ERP & Systems
Work with ERP/accounting software such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Tally, Zoho Books, QuickBooks, or NetSuite.
Improve accounting processes through automation and system enhancements.

Skills Required
Solid knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, Power Query, etc.).
Experience with ERP systems.
Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
