Role Purpose

To manage and ensure effective functioning of Central Stores operations, including receipt, storage, preservation, inventory control, issuance, and dispatch of materials and spares. The role is responsible for maintaining optimum inventory levels, ensuring material availability, minimizing inventory carrying costs, and maintaining solid stores controls and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Stores Operations
Manage day-to-day operations of Central Stores covering receipt, inspection, storage, preservation, issuance, and dispatch of materials.
Ensure timely availability of critical spares, consumables, engineering materials, and other plant requirements.
Establish systematic storage and material handling practices for productive utilization of warehouse space.
Ensure proper identification, codification, binning, tagging,



and location management of materials.
Monitor receipt of materials against Purchase Orders and coordinate with Purchase and user departments for resolution of discrepancies.
Ensure timely issue of materials against authorized requisitions and maintain accurate transaction records.

Inventory Management
Monitor inventory levels and ensure optimum stock availability while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
Monitor minimum/maximum stock levels, reorder levels, safety stock, and critical spares.
Conduct regular cycle counts and physical stock verification and ensure reconciliation with system inventory.
Identify slow-moving, non-moving, surplus, and obsolete materials and initiate appropriate action.
Drive inventory reduction and working-capital optimization initiatives.
Ensure proper preservation and periodic inspection of critical and long-storage materials.
