Job Description:About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Team Leader Rebar Detailer / Checker to lead our rebar detailing and checking activities from our Salem office.

The ideal candidate should have 7+ years of strong hands-on experience in rebar detailing/checking, with significant exposure to projects for clients in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Australia.

The role requires a strong technical understanding of reinforcement detailing, excellent checking and quality-control capabilities, and the ability to lead a team of detailers while ensuring drawings meet international standards, client requirements, and project deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

Technical & Rebar Detailing

- Lead and support the team in preparing accurate rebar shop drawings, reinforcement drawings, and bar bending schedules.
- Review and interpret structural drawings, design documents, specifications, and project requirements.
- Provide technical guidance to detailers on complex reinforcement detailing issues.
- Ensure reinforcement detailing is practical, constructible, and compliant with applicable codes and project specifications.
- Handle complex and technically challenging reinforcement detailing requirements.

Checking & Quality Control

- Perform detailed checking and quality control of rebar shop drawings and bar bending schedules.
- Verify bar sizes, spacing, laps, anchorage, development lengths, couplers, bends, bar marks, quantities, and other reinforcement requirements.
- Ensure drawings comply with relevant UAE, Saudi, and Australian standards and client/project specifications.
- Identify discrepancies between structural drawings, architectural drawings, schedules, and detailing drawings.
- Ensure all comments and revisions are incorporated correctly before drawing submission.
- Establish and maintain high standards of drawing accuracy and quality.





Team Leadership

- Lead, mentor, and guide a team of Rebar Detailers and Checkers.
- Allocate work based on project requirements, priorities, and individual capabilities.
- Monitor team productivity, quality, and delivery schedules.
- Conduct technical reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Support training and development of junior and mid-level detailers.
- Escalate technical, quality, and project-related issues to management when required.

Client & Project Coordination

- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, clients, and other project stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
- Review and respond to client comments and ensure timely incorporation of revisions.
- Raise RFIs and technical queries where design information or project requirements are unclear.
- Ensure project deliverables are completed within agreed timelines and quality standards.
- Support project teams in resolving detailing and constructability issues.

Must-Have Skills & Experience

- 7+ years of relevant experience in rebar detailing/checking, with demonstrated team leadership experience.
- Strong hands-on experience working on UAE, Saudi Arabian, and Australian projects/clients.
- Strong practical knowledge of UAE, Saudi, and Australian rebar detailing standards, codes, and project specifications.
- Proven experience in rebar drawing checking and quality control.
- Strong understanding of reinforcement detailing, constructability, and structural drawings.
- Experience leading or supervising a team of rebar detailers/checkers.




- Proficiency in relevant software such as AutoCAD, RebarCAD, CADS RC, Revit, Tekla, etc.
- Strong problem-solving and technical decision-making skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify errors before submission.
- Ability to manage priorities, deadlines, and multiple project deliverables.

Preferred Skills

- Experience handling large-scale or complex international projects.
- Experience directly coordinating with international clients/consultants.
- Strong knowledge of project-specific client standards and detailing requirements.
- Experience in setting up or improving checking/QA processes.
- Good communication, leadership, mentoring, and coordination skills.
- Ability to independently handle technical escalations and support project management.

Education

Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering, Civil & Structural Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.

Key Selection Criteria

Hands-on project experience with UAE, Saudi, and Australian clients/projects is mandatory. Candidates should demonstrate practical knowledge of the applicable standards through actual detailing/checking experience.

Strong preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated experience in leading rebar detailing teams, managing drawing quality, resolving technical issues, and delivering projects to international clients.
