Business Development Executive – Domestic & Export Markets

Role Summary

We are looking for a proactive and result-oriented Business Development Executive to develop both domestic and international markets. The role involves generating qualified leads, acquiring customers, developing dealers and distributors, handling export enquiries, and converting opportunities into profitable orders.

Key ResponsibilitiesDomestic Business Development

- Identify and approach potential customers, dealers, distributors, institutions, and business partners.
- Generate leads through calls, market visits, referrals, digital platforms, exhibitions, and industry contacts.
- Develop new territories and distribution channels across India.
- Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable products and commercial solutions.
- Prepare quotations, proposals, presentations, and commercial offers.
- Conduct systematic follow-ups and convert qualified leads into orders.
- Strengthen relationships with existing customers and generate repeat business.
- Track competitor pricing, market developments, and customer feedback.

Export Business Development

- Identify potential importers, distributors, wholesalers, agents, and institutional buyers in international markets.
- Research and shortlist suitable export countries and customer segments.
- Generate export leads through platforms such as IndiaMART, TradeIndia, Alibaba, ExportersIndia, LinkedIn, trade directories, exhibitions, and export councils.
- Handle international enquiries and communicate professionally with overseas customers.
- Prepare export quotations, product presentations, proforma invoices, and commercial offers.
- Understand and coordinate export pricing, minimum order quantity,



packaging, payment terms, Incoterms, and shipment requirements.
- Follow up on samples, approvals, negotiations, and trial orders.
- Coordinate with production, quality, logistics, freight forwarders, customs agents, and accounts for timely export execution.
- Maintain export enquiry, sample, quotation, order, and shipment trackers.
- Develop long-term relationships with international buyers and distributors.
- Support participation in international exhibitions, trade delegations, and buyer–seller meetings.

Reporting and Coordination

- Maintain an accurate CRM or daily lead-and-follow-up tracker.
- Submit weekly business development reports, opportunity pipelines, and sales forecasts.
- Coordinate with production, accounts, logistics, quality, and management for order fulfilment.
- Follow up on customer payments and ensure adherence to approved commercial terms.
- Report market intelligence, customer concerns, competitor activity, and new opportunities.

Key Performance Indicators

- Qualified domestic and export leads generated
- Recent customer meetings and international buyer interactions
- Quotations and samples submitted
- Lead-to-order conversion rate
- Revenue generated from new domestic customers
- Export orders and export revenue generated
- New dealers, distributors, countries, and territories developed
- Repeat business from developed customers
- Export enquiry response and follow-up time
- Collection performance for assigned customers




- Accuracy of CRM and business development reports

Candidate Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, International Business, Commerce, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in business development, B2B sales, export marketing, dealer development, or international sales.
- Strong communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-management skills.
- Good written and spoken English is essential.
- Tamil communication skills are required; Hindi or an additional foreign language would be an advantage.
- Basic understanding of export documentation, Incoterms, payment terms, logistics, and international trade procedures.
- Ability to independently generate leads, conduct follow-ups, and convert business opportunities.
- Working knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, email, CRM, and online lead-generation platforms.
- Willingness to travel within India and internationally when required.
- Valid driving licence and own vehicle would be preferred.

Preferred Profile

- Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, safety matches, industrial products, construction materials, or distributor-based sales.
- Experience working with overseas importers, distributors, merchant exporters, and institutional customers.
- Familiarity with export documentation, DGFT, CAPEXIL, customs procedures, letters of credit, and international logistics.
- Existing domestic or international customer network would be an advantage.

What We Expect

We are looking for an execution-focused professional who takes ownership of the complete business development cycle—from market research and lead generation to negotiation, order conversion, and repeat business.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
