Purpose of Job

ScaleupAlly is looking for a Senior Power BI Developer with strong expertise in Power BI, SQL, DAX, data modeling, and BI, along with a solid understanding of data engineering and contemporary data platforms.

The role involves building end-to-end BI solutions, including data transformation, modeling, dashboard development, and performance optimization. The candidate should understand ETL/ELT, data pipelines, and scalable data architectures and work closely with data engineers and business stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in any discipline / Information Systems, or a related field.
- 4–6 years of hands-on experience in Power BI development, SQL, DAX, and data modeling.

Duties

- Develop and maintain advanced Power BI dashboards and reports using DAX, Power Query, data modeling, RLS, and Power BI Service.
- Design and manage end-to-end ETL/ELT data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Microsoft Fabric.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analytics.
- Design scalable data models, including Star Schema, fact and dimension tables.
- Work with SQL Server, Azure SQL, Snowflake, Azure Synapse, and Lakehouse environments.
- Use Python, Spark/PySpark, and Delta Lake for data processing and automation.




- Integrate data from databases, APIs, files, and transactional systems while ensuring data quality.
- Optimize Power BI reports, DAX, SQL, data models, pipelines, and refresh performance.
- Troubleshoot end-to-end data flow from source systems → pipelines → warehouse/lakehouse → Power BI.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers, Business Analysts, and stakeholders to deliver scalable BI solutions.
- Perform data reconciliation, root-cause analysis, and issue resolution.
- Follow Git/version-control practices and contribute to technical standards and documentation.
- Mentor junior team members and support technical decision-making.
- Take ownership of BI and data engineering solutions from development through deployment and optimization.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with Snowflake, Azure Synapse Analytics, dbt, or Airflow.
- Experience with CI/CD and Azure DevOps for BI/data solutions.
- Experience working in Microsoft Fabric end-to-end environments.
- Exposure to data governance, data security, and enterprise BI architecture.
- Experience working with APIs and cloud-based data sources.
- Experience in designing or contributing to enterprise-scale BI/data architectures.
- Experience working with globally distributed teams or international stakeholders.
