French Language Instructor – TEF/TCF Exam Preparation

About the Role

We are launching a French language training institute focused on helping students prepare for TEF Canada and TCF Canada examinations.

We are looking for an experienced, motivated French Language Instructor who can teach French from beginner level through advanced levels and, most importantly, prepare students specifically for TEF/TCF examinations.

The ideal candidate has strong French communication skills, excellent teaching ability, and practical experience preparing students for Canadian French-language proficiency examinations.

Responsibilities

- Teach French to beginner, intermediate, and advanced-level students.
- Prepare students specifically for TEF Canada and/or TCF Canada.
- Teach and develop students' skills in:
- Listening
- Reading
- Writing
- Speaking
- Grammar
- Vocabulary
- Pronunciation
- Develop structured lesson plans and course materials.
- Conduct practice tests, mock examinations, and regular student assessments.
- Provide individualized feedback and identify areas for improvement.
- Teach exam strategies and time-management techniques.
- Track student progress and maintain appropriate records.
- Help develop the institute's French/TEF/TCF curriculum and learning materials.
- Keep up to date with TEF/TCF examination formats, requirements, and scoring criteria.
- Create a positive, qualified, and motivating classroom environment.

QualificationsRequired

- Strong proficiency in French; C1/C2 level or native-level proficiency preferred.
- Previous experience teaching French.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.




- Ability to teach students who may have little or no prior knowledge of French.
- Ability to explain French grammar and concepts clearly.
- Comfortable communicating with management and students in English.

Strongly Preferred

- Previous experience preparing students for TEF Canada and/or TCF Canada.
- Knowledge of the NCLC/CLB scoring system and Canadian immigration language requirements.
- Experience preparing students specifically for the speaking and writing components.
- French teaching certification, degree/diploma in French, education, linguistics, or a related field.
- Experience developing French-language curriculum or exam-preparation materials.
- Demonstrated history of helping students achieve their target TEF/TCF scores.

Interview Process

Shortlisted candidates may be asked to complete a 15–20 minute demonstration lesson and discuss how they would prepare a beginner student for TEF Canada/TCF Canada.
